Nerubian spiders are small, six-legged spider-like nerubians. They are capable of speech.[1] They can spin strong webs.[2] At least some seem to be responsible for digging tunnels[3] or tending to nerubian eggs,[4] while others seem to mainly serve a combat role as assassins[5] or by attacking enemies in large swarms.[6] Thousands of them swarm underneath Northrend to this day.[7]

  • These creatures have the model name nerubian spiderling in the game files,[8] but they are never identified as such in-game and do not closely resemble the nerubian spiderlings of Warcraft III.

As they have six legs, they could be insects and not spiders. Nerubians might form some sort of symbiotic relation with a variety of non-nerubian insects, carrying them with them even in undeath as seen with crypt lords' use of insects: carrion beetles and locusts.
