Zaralek Cavern is an enormous cave system underneath the Dragon Isles. It is accessed via a large cave between the Ohn'ahran Plains and Valdrakken.

Deep beneath the Obsidian Citadel from which Neltharion once defended the Dragon Isles lies a vast hidden laboratory where the Earth-Warder conducted experiments... forbidden practices he wanted to conceal from the other Aspects. Within these halls lies the shadow chamber from which Neltharion first communed with the Old Gods, walking a path that would one day lead to his transformation into Deathwing.

While Raszageth has been defeated, the Primalists carry on in their bid to unravel all the titans have wrought and must forge new alliances–or rekindle old ones. As the heroes of Azeroth pursue enemies into the dangers of Zaralek Cavern, they are aided by the local inhabitants found under the Dragon Isles — the molefolk known as Niffen and the Drogbar. They may not know much of the surface wars, but their knowledge of the underground is key to players and their allies finding their footing within.

Getting there

The exterior of Iridikron's Gambit

To reach the cavern, complete the first few quests of the Embers of Neltharion campaign, then dragonride into Iridikron's Gambit, the large cave mouth at ^[89, 29] in the Cascades Canyon between the Ohn'ahran Plains and Petitioner's Concourse of Thaldraszus and Valdrakken.

There are three flight paths within the cavern: at Loamm, Dragonscale Camp, and Obsidian Rest. The flight paths connect to the surface of the Dragon Isles by clicking the "Dragon Isles" corner of the map.

Two additional paths are also open at the start: the Old Loamm Road tunnel from Teerakai at ^[36, 59] in southwestern Ohn'ahran Plains, and the Lookout Breach tunnel from Three-Falls Lookout at ^[19, 23] in northwestern Azure Span. Both tunnels connect to Warder's Teeth in southwestern Zaralek Cavern.
