The Zaqali Elders of Gholna and Vakan are a djaradin world boss encounter found at the Zaqali Caldera in Zaralek Cavern.

Adventure Guide

Vakan and Gholna, powerful djaradin elders, are each a master over their respective element. Gholna with lava and Vakan with shadowflame, they are locked in constant conflict over who is stronger. Through devastation and chaos, each elder attempts to outdo the other until one of them is crowned victor.

Overview

Vakan and Gholna take turns gaining energy to see who can kill the most players.

Vakan hurls [Enveloping Darkness] at random player destinations that summons a [Blistering Cyclone].

Gholna creates [Lava Geysers] at random player destinations that erupt and continually inflict Fire damage to several players.

At full energy, Vakan unleashes [Scorching Eclipse] while Gholna casts [Incineration].

When one is defeated, the other decalres victory reducing their spells recast time and increasing the rate they gain energy.

DPS

• Avoid Gholna's [Incineration].
• Avoid Vakan's [Scorching Eclipse].

Healers

• Gholna stacks [Searing Touch] on random players.
• Vakan stacks [Burning Shadows] on random players.

Tanks

• Gholna's [Burning Strike] applies a stack of [Searing Touch].
• Vakan's [Umbral Smash] applies a stack of [Burning Shadows].
• While Gholna and Vakan are close together, they gain [Empowered Rivalry].

Abilities

• Empowered Rivalry — Gholna and Vakan's rivalry is so potent, they gain strength while within 7 yards of each other reducing their damage received by 90%.

    • Burning Shadows  — Inflicts 3,336 Shadowflame damage every 2 sec for 36 sec. This effect stacks. Also disperses any Molten Pool a player stands within.
  • Burning Pitch — Vakan hurls dark bolts at 10 random players, inflicting 25,016 Shadowflame damage and applying Burning Shadows.
    • Burning Shadows  — Inflicts 3,336 Shadowflame damage every 2 sec for 36 sec. This effect stacks. Also disperses any Molten Pool a player stands within.
  • Enveloping Darkness  — Vakan hurls darkness at 6 random player destinations, inflicting 125,082 Shadowflame damage to all players within 5 yards of the impact and summons a Blistering Cyclone.
    • Blistering Cyclone — The Vortex inflicts 30,020 Shadowflame damage every 1 sec to players standing within it.
      • Gholna's Might — Using Searing Touch to disperse a Blistering Cyclone fills the player with Gholna's might, increasing their haste by 10% for 10 sec.
