Raszageth is sealed away by Neltharion.

While the proto-dragons who would become known as the Dragon Aspects accepted the gift of the titans, the proto-dragons who would become the Primal Incarnates rejected it. Tensions rose between the Primalists who wished to cleanse the world of the titans' "stain" and the dragonflights.[1] Raszageth was the second proto-dragon to become an Incarnate, the first being Fyrakk. Iridikron invited her to join them and taught her how to imbue herself with elemental energies without Fyrakk's consent. Where Fyrakk delighted in battle, Raszageth delighted in causing pain.[2]

Open war between the primal and ordered dragons broke out about 20,000 years ago,[3] when Raszageth struck first by leading an assault on Neltharion and his dracthyr army on the Forbidden Reach.[4] In the battle, she destroyed the Oathbinder, the titan relic which Neltharion was using to control the dracthyr. This caused Neltharion to give in to the Old Gods for the first time and use their power to seal her away within the Froststone Vault.[5]

A cataclysmic conflict ensued between Primalists and dragonflights known as the War of the Scaleborn. Vyranoth and Fyrakk were ever loyal to the Incarnate's ideals, but Iridikron truly embraced the war. At the end, he struck terrible bargains to keep their cause alive. Alexstrasza believes the other incarnates never knew the true depths of his depravity.[6] Despite the Primalists' alliance with the djaradin to end the dragons' reign,[7] the remaining Primal Incarnates were ultimately defeated, but Alexstrasza, having failed to restore peace between the two groups,[8] still couldn't bear to kill them given they had once been as close as clutch-mates, and decided to imprison them instead, within the titanic Vault of the Incarnates.[1]

Sometime later, Adamanthia sent word to Neltharion that while Raszageth's prison remained strong, electrical disturbances around her vault led Adamanthia to believe that not only was she conscious but may have been once attempting to send out a signal to her kin.[9]

Raszageth meets Wrathion.

20,000 years later, a modern incarnation of the Primalists was led by Kurog Grimtotem to free Raszageth from the Froststone Vault in the Forbidden Reach. Once free, she announced that the elements were singing the arrival of a new era for Azeroth, then asked Kurog where the other Primal Incarnates were imprisoned and declared that they would soon all be free from their shackles. Facing Ebyssian, Wrathion, and the newly released dracthyr, she let them go so Wrathion could carry a message for Alexstrasza, that the Primalists were back and that they would make sure to cleanse the world of the titans' "stain". With the arrival of Nozdormu, Raszageth and the Primalists retreated.

In the Waking Shores, Raszageth and her Primalists attempted to infuse their own powers into the Ruby Life Pools.[10] She battled Alexstrasza, but Wrathion intervened before Raszageth could deal the finishing blow. Raszageth left because she wanted Alexstrasza to suffer by losing everything before she died.

In the Azure Span, Raszageth led the Primalists' efforts to destroy Vakthros and the ley lines connected to it, which would destroy the Span.[11] She expressed disgust at the Kirin Tor for using the "unnatural" arcane magic of the titans.[12][13] As Raszageth was about to kill Kalecgos, the rest of the blue dragons arrived, saving him and driving her off.[14] Even after she fled, Raszageth's storm remained around the tower at Vakthros, and the Aspects questioned what she wanted there since it had nothing to do with the other Incarnates' imprisonment.[15]

In Thaldraszus, she gloated over Alexstrasza's failed attempt to use the Mother Oathstone to renew the Aspects' powers, before breaching the Vault of the Incarnates and attempting to free the other Primal Incarnates.[16] Though Raszageth was killed, she succeeded in freeing Vyranoth, Fyrakk, and Iridikron. Though Fyrakk wanted to devour the hearts of her murderers, Iridikron reprimanded him to not underestimate the mortals as Raszageth had, as her overconfidence had led to her downfall.

Following Raszageth's defeat, her spell over the Forbidden Reach began to dissipate, allowing not only the dracthyr to return but also her fellow Incarnates who ventured there, both to mourn her death and to proceed with plans of uncovering Neltharion's secrets.[17]

After gaining the powers of an Aspect, Vyranoth adopted the title of Aspect of Storms, in memory of her fallen sister.[18]

Trivia

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

In the Froststone Vault, there is no indication as to Raszageth's constraints, although she was imprisoned by Neltharion and Malygos. It can be assumed that her prison was not the same as that of her other Incarnates.
