The Sha'tar, meaning "Born of Light" in Draenei, are a faction of naaru led by A'dal. The Sha'tar are dedicated to defeat the demonic forces that threaten both Outland and Azeroth. To this end they helped the Aldor reclaim and rebuild Shattrath City following its destruction by the Horde, and welcomed Voren'thal the Seer and his blood elf army upon their defection from Kael'thas Sunstrider.

Later on, the greater numbers of blood elf and draenei with their leaders joined the Sha'tar and successfully revived Illidan, redeemed the Illidari and saved the natural life of Zangarmarsh from corruption.

Moreover, the followers of Terokk were given an opportunity to be absolved for their actions if they joined Kirrik and A'dal. Some refused and were simply imprisoned while a vast majority abandoned their dark rituals and took Kirrik's offer. The bothersome Terokkar Forest, which had been a thorn in Shattrath's side for too long, was now free of taint and finally in the hands of the Sha'tar. Meanwhile in Zangararsh, the sporelings have allied with the Sha'tar because of the growing treat of the Burning Legion.

As the war against the Burning Legion began, Sha'tar have allied with the mag'har orcs of Nangrad and the brokens in Terokkar Forest. At last, the allied armies assault the last Legion stronghold on Argus.
