Assaults[1] are a feature added in patch 8.3.0, consisting of the invasion by various enemies of Uldum in Kalimdor and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms in Pandaria, triggering a zone-wide event.

Assaults

Unlike the previous versions of the feature, these Assaults feature only two zones with three different sets of enemies invading a portion of the area one at a time.

When an Assault is active, portals for a Lesser Vision of N'Zoth are present.

Trivia

  • UI refers to the events as N'Zoth Assaults with the description of "click to view areas under attack by N'Zoth's forces."[2] However, lorewise, the Amathet and the mogu clans are not N'Zoth's forces.
  • In the early PTR development, the Assaults were referred to as Black Empire Assaults,[3] before returning to the original name.
