In the RPG
Spectres or specters are incorporeal undead often mistaken for ghosts.[2] They haunt the places where they died, retaining their sapience, but now hating all living things. Mael Shelub "convinced" a local spectre in the Silverpine Forest to join his forces.[3][4] Most spectres resemble the more timid form of a shade,[5] rather than the fearsome servants of the Scourge who were created by ritual sacrifice.[6]
Trivia
- The spectres are sometimes jokingly internally referred to as "manshees" by Blizzard employees.[1]
- Wraiths formerly were used to represent male counterparts to banshees, such as with the Suffering Highborne.
- Disturbed Spectres use normal night elf ghost model and are male and female.
