Demon Hunter Campaign

The Demon Hunter Campaign is the main questline for the demon hunter class in the World of Warcraft: Legion expansion.

Story summary

Introduction

Upon arriving in Dalaran above the Broken Isles, Altruis the Sufferer / Kayn Sunfury sent Kor'vas Bloodthorn to find the demon hunter adventurer, as they were the ranking member of the Illidari in Illidan Stormrage's absence. Dedicated to destroying the Burning Legion, the adventurer was asked to obtain powerful artifacts, the Twinblades of the Deceiver and the Aldrachi Warblades, both created by the demon lord Kil'jaeden and carried by the former Illidari, Varedis Felsoul and Caria Felsoul respectively.

Obtaining the artifacts

To obtain the Twinblades of the Deceiver, the adventurer and his fellow Illidari wished to speak with a captured eredar lord named Taldath the Destroyer, held in the Violet Hold. Warden Alturas was distrustful of the demon hunters, but the adventurer convinced him to let them enter the prison. The Illidari then fought the demon and gained knowledge of Varedis' location - Suramar. Lyana Darksorrow and Illysanna Ravencrest were sent ahead to Felsoul Hold, shortly followed by the adventurer. The demon hunter made their way through the swarms of demons, absorbing their souls and destroying demonic barriers. On their way further, they found the bodies of Lyana and Illysanna. After dealing with Fel Commander Igrius and the Fist of the Deceiver, the demon hunter faced Varedis. Although he was encouraged by Kil'jaeden, Varedis was defeated and dropped his warglaives on the ground, before retreating through a portal to Argus. The adventurer took up the warglaives and returned to Dalaran.

To obtain Aldrachi Warblades, the demon hunter needed a power source for Jace Darkweaver's Legion communicator in order to communicate with a group sent to hunt down Caria. To that end, Khadgar was asked for help, and he provided them with a Crystallized Soul. With it, Jace and the ranking Illidari contacted Allari and learned that her group was overwhelmed by the Legion on the Broken Shore. The demon hunter then proceeded alone on the Shattered Edge where they found Allari and freed her. After killing demon soldiers as well as commanders, Doomherald Ak'vesh, Doomherald Saera, and Doomherald Taraar, and destroying their portals, they faced off Gorgonnash. Then, they tracked Caria into Lost Temple and defeated her. After claiming the warblades, the demon hunters returned to Dalaran.
