Description

Stage 1: You CAN go home

You have successfully pierced the holy barriers protecting the Black Temple. Confer with Kayn Sunfury and prepare to confront Akama.
Speak with Altruis the Sufferer / Kayn Sunfury

Upon appearing, Malevolence, Allari, Jace, and Kor'var are present.

Altruis the Sufferer: I have mixed feelings about returning here. Perhaps one day, the temple can be restored.

For now though, let's convince Akama to join us and return to the Fel Hammer.

Stage 2: Nothing Will Bar Our Way

The gates to the Temple Summit proper are closed. Akama is on the other side. Have your Illidari force a way in.
Ascend the steps and await the opening of the gate

Altruis the Sufferer: Altruis the Sufferer says: Malevolence, make sure no one gets through that door.; Altruis the Sufferer says: Remember, we are here to convince Akama to join us, not to kill him.; Akama yells: I know not why you have returned, Illidari, but it is a grave mistake. Stage 3: Confronting an Old Foe

Enter the Temple Summit and confront Akama. Convince him to join you in taking the fight to the Burning Legion's worlds.
Speak with Altruis / Kayn and then confront Akama

Altruis the Sufferer: However you wish this to go down, we are with you, <name>. Though, I would counsel restraint, if possible.

The knowledge that he has could prove instrumental in bringing down the Burning Legion. We want Akama to become a trusted advisor, despite his past history with the Illidari.

Hopefully, he will listen to reason. The tone of his voice suggests not.

I am in agreement. If he keeps this civil, then so shall we.

Altruis the Sufferer says: Akama, listen to reason.

Akama says: Even here, I have heard your name spoken, <name>. But, I am not impressed.

Akama says: Let us see if I can impress you.

Akama blasts away everyone, save the demon hunter adventurer, and they are trapped in a pillar of Lightning Entrampment.

Akama says: Shall we finish this like beings of honor? Can you manage that much, demon hunter?

Kayn Sunfury: However you wish this to proceed, we are with you, <name>. I remind you that he betrayed the Master, leading to our imprisonment and Illidan's death.

If it weren't for Akama, the Burning Legion might already be defeated. While we want him as an advisor, his previous actions suggest that he is not to be trusted.

Don't misunderstand, the Master said that we should recruit Akama, so I am in favor of the plan. However, it does not sound like he is willing to be reasonable.

Allari and I have formulated a contingency plan just in case.

I hear you, Kayn. Hopefully, he will listen to reason. If not...

Kayn Sunfury says: We are only here to talk, Akama.

Stage 4: If He Will Not Listen to Reason...

Akama will not be persuaded by words. Perhaps force will do the trick. But, how to win and not lose in doing so?
Defeat Akama

Avoid Akama's AoE abilities and interrupt what you can.

Akama yells: Open the skies!

At two-thirds health:

Akama says: You show some skill. But not as much as your dead master.

At one-third health:

Akama suddenly leaps to the center of the area.

Akama says: Tell me, demon hunter, how did it feel being locked up for all of those years?

Akama knocks back the adventurer.

Akama is casting [Deathbolt]! Interrupt it!

On defeat:

Akama says: This is impossible.

The adventurer's fellow demon hunters are freed.

Altruis the Sufferer yells: Akama, think! You know I opposed Illidan. You can trust us.
Kayn Sunfury yells: Kill that mongrel, <name>. No... wait. I have a better idea.

Final Stage: A Final Attempt at Diplomacy

Akama is defeated. Speak with him and convince him to join you.
Speak with Akama

Akama (Altruis the Sufferer): You have beaten me with honor. Perhaps I have misjudged you, demon hunter.

It will take some time before there is full trust between us. However, like you, I wish to see the Burning Legion's downfall.

They destroyed my beautiful temple. I will have my revenge.

Toward that goal, I will aid you, <name>.

Then rise and join us, Akama.

Akama stands.

Akama says: Perhaps you are right. It seems that times have changed and with it, the Illidari. I will aid you.

Altruis the Sufferer yells: Matron mother, please come up here. We are returning to the Fel Hammer.

Matron Mother Malevolence says: Of course, my dear. One gateway coming up.

Matron Mother Malevolence channels the same gateway spell as before, this time to return.

Akama (Kayn Sunfury): I will never aid you, demon hunter. Like all your kind, you are no better than the demons, which you consort with. I see no difference between you.

The Legion and your master destroyed my beautiful temple. Trust me when I say that one day, I will have my revenge.

You can go twist in the Nether, <name>.

Then, you leave me no choice, Akama. One way, or another, you WILL help us to defeat the Legion.

Akama says: Just kill me and be done with it.

Kayn Sunfury says: Oh, I think not. Allari, do what you do best.

Allari the Souleater says: It will be my pleasure.

Allari uses her Scythe of Souls to separate Akama's shade from him.

Shade of Akama yells: I live again!

Akama says: No...

Kayn Sunfury yells: Matron mother, get up here. We are returning to the Fel Hammer.

Matron Mother Malevolence says: Of course, my dear. One gateway coming up.
