Darkfuse Solutions is a goblin cartel[1] that has operated in numerous theatres across Azeroth and beyond. Originally known as the Blackfuse Company, it was led by the eponymous Siegecrafter Helix Blackfuse and provided advanced weaponry for the True Horde under the direct order of Warchief Garrosh Hellscream, such as the Iron Juggernaut.[2] Their technology, most notably the Iron Star, paved the way for the weaponry used by the Iron Horde; whom they later also aligned with on alternate Draenor.
The company rebranded following the events of the war in Draenor,[1] showing up again as Darkfuse Enforcement in Khaz Algar and in Undermine, serving as Jastor Gallywix's private army. After Gallywix's death, they rebranded, yet again, to Darkfuse Solutions -- seeking to be on the winning side for a change by exploring new business opportunities.[1]
Background
Mists of Pandaria

During the invasion of Pandaria, Warchief Garrosh Hellscream, in his search for the engineer of the True Horde, hired Helix Blackfuse, leader of the Blackfuse Company, who was the only goblin with the combination of engineering prowess, professionalism, and ruthlessness to satisfy him.[2]
The Blackfuse built much of the technology that was later used by the True Horde during the Siege of Orgrimmar, such as the Iron Juggernaut, Thresher Turrets, and Iron stars. They also repurposed titan technology stolen from Pandaria in order to create a defense system protecting the Underhold's vault, where artifacts plundered from the continent were stored.[3]
Furthermore, they were involved in the battle itself and defended the Siegeworks when the champions of the Horde and Alliance stormed the Underhold. Siegecrafter Blackfuse fought them there atop his shredder, but, despite all his advanced technology, was ultimately defeated.[2]
Warlords of Draenor
After Garrosh escaped and traveled to Alternate Draenor, he managed to rally most of the orc clans there to form the Iron Horde. He used Blackfuse designs to arm his armies with the most powerful weapons used by the True Horde in Azeroth.[4]
When the Dark Portal was reopened and the Ironmarch brigade attacked the Blasted Lands, Garrosh sent for loyal goblins from the Blackfuse Company, who could help the Iron Horde further innovate weaponry.[5] A member of the company, Pauli Rocketspark, was enlisted by Hellscream to build the technology required for the Iron Horde's infrastructure. Given the dim-witted assistant Borka to do the heavy lifting, Rocketspark set about building the Grimrail.[6] In the Iron Docks, the company had deployed the Grimrail Enforcers to protect the trains that run through Gorgrond.[7]
On Darktide Roost in Shadowmoon Valley, Blackfuse goblins led by Razz Ricketroz were aiding the Iron Horde in capturing and slaughtering the local rylaks.[8]
At some point, a Blackfuse team composed of: Dollos, Ghains, Huxto, and Vulf tried to loot a sunken Black Market shipment in the Zangar Sea.[9]
The Grimrail Depot was eventually attacked by the Alliance during the war in Draenor, and Pauli Rocketspark and his agents at the depot were defeated. The Grimrail Enforcers in the Iron Docks met a similar fate against the Horde.[10]
During the raid on Hellfire Citadel, the Alliance and Horde champions faced another of Blackfuses' creations, the Iron Reaver. The schematics for the Iron Reaver were found in the workshop of Blackfuse after the fall of Orgrimmar, drawing inspiration from the mighty constructs of the Legion and designed to be the nefarious goblin's masterwork. The project was completed after his death and represented the pinnacle of the Iron Horde's military might.[11]
The War Within
At some point after the war in Draenor, the Blackfuse Company was renamed to Darkfuse Enforcement and taken over by Jastor Gallywix. During the war against Xal'atath, shortly after the Alliance and Horde fleets arrived in Khaz Algar, a group of Darkfuse Enforcement goblins led by Supervisor Radlock seized the Deepforge Golemworks, seeking to salvage its technology. However, ZZ-01-47, a cogwalker who was the last functioning maintenance machine at the facility, managed to send a signal for help, which was answered by High Speaker Brinthe, Dagran Thaurissan II, and the adventurers accompanying them.[12][13] By wreaking havoc among the Darkfuse ranks and by reactivating the dormant facility and its golems, the group managed to defeat Radlock and drive out the goblins.[14]
After the Dark Heart was damaged during the battle for Hallowfall, Gallywix entered into a deal with Xal'atath. While the exact details remain unclear, it is known that he was tasked with repairing the Dark Heart for her, seemingly in exchange for access and knowledge on how to utilize the Black Blood to make powerful weapons.[15]
When Gallywix asked for more time, Black Blood, and help, Xal'atath directed him to Khaz Algar, where he could get all three. There, the Darkfuse took over a Venture Co. mining operation in the Verdant Gutters and the nearby Black Blood-infested Writhing Fields, making the cartel harvest it for them. The other cartels soon got involved as well, though they all answered to the Darkfuse, who acted as security and overseers.[16]
Subsequently, Gallywix arranged for the kidnapping of Sprinkle Noggenfogger[17] in order to force Marin Noggenfogger to work on repairing the Dark Heart. During the process, Marin accidentally discovered that kaja'mite stabilized the Black Blood.[18] As a result, Gallywix had the Darkfuse seize control of the Bilgewater Cartel's operation on the Kaja'Coast to ensure a steady supply of kaja'mite.
The Darkfuse also abducted Fleet Master Seahorn to keep the Blackwater Cartel in line and make them transport the Blood and Hobart Grapplehammer, forcing him to develop Black Blood weapons for them.[19] Nikki the Fixer of the Venture Company, willingly aligned with Gallywix and the Darkfuse in pursuit of power.[20] Laslo Overbite, who had been placed in charge of Bilgewater's operations in Undermine by Monte Gazlowe,[21] found himself forced into bad deals as many of his friends were manipulated by Gallywix.[22] With the Cartels of Undermine under his control, Gallywix declared himself the "Overboss of Undermine."[23]

Over time, Laslo sought to rally the other cartel leaders against Gallywix and negotiate a new deal. While Nikki's ambition led her to support Gallywix, his leverage forced Marin and Revilgaz into compliance. In response, Gallywix had Laslo executed as an example to the others. As the remaining goblins departed, Xal'atath confronted Gallywix, demanding progress on the Dark Heart. When he attempted to justify the delays, she warned him not to disappoint her.[24]
At some point, Darkfuse Enforcement also took control of Opportunity Acquisitions, which had an operation going on in the Abyssal Excavation in the Ringing Deeps. Foreman Bentscale was appointed to supervise the workers. Monte Gazlowe, Renzik "The Shiv", and Orweyna, who were all drawn to Opportunity Point to investigate rumors of suspicious activity there, teamed up and discovered a message in the foreman's office that revealed Gallywixes involvement in all of this.[25]
Eventually, Pamsy, the leader of the Venture crew working on the Writhing Fields, blew the wall between the Verdant Gutters and Opportunity Point, as a cry for help, for the sake of her crew and to deal with the Black Blood.[23]
Undermine(d)
After receiving word from Opportunity Point, Gazlowe and his allies set off to investigate once again.[26] And upon reaching the Verdant Gutters, they discovered the operation that Darkfuse had been running there.[16] While adventurers created a distraction by clashing with the Darkfuse, Gazlowe, Renzik, and Orweyna made their way to the south mines to investigate.[27] Gallywix, who did not approve of the now open wall into the Ringing Deeps, had placed a bounty on the culprit's head. Realizing that they had an ally against Gallywix in the area, Gazlowe was determined to find them.[28]
They eventually met with Pamsy but were betrayed by Zirdo, another Venture Co. member, who snitched on Pamsy to Gozzic Cogcrane, the Darkfuse in charge of the Writhing Fields. Gozzic slew some members of Pamsy's crew to send a message.[29] The Darkfuse operation was thrown into disarray, however, when Gozzic was slain soon after and the Writhing Fields pump station sabotaged by the adventurers and Orweyna.[30]
Elsewhere in the Ringing Deeps, the Darkfuse were executing Operation: Floodgate at the Waterworks dam, using it to power Gallywix's sinister schemes. Renzik led a covert mission to infiltrate the place and neutralize Geezle Gigazap, the mad scientist behind it all, in order to cut off the power and stop the operation.[31]
The group would make their way to Undermine after this, where they discovered how dominant Darkfuse Enforcement had become there. They had taken over Tailgate Park after Laslo's death.[21] In the Venture Company's holdings in the Venturewood, they were harassing the locals, with the approval of Nikki the Fixer.[20] Baron Revilgaz, the Blackwater Trade Prince, had moved to Hovel Hill after the Darkfuse started squatting in the Blackwater Marina, and he got sick of them watching his every move.[32][33] And the Steamwheedle Laboratories, in the Vatworks, were crawling with Darkfuse goons, making sure the Steamwheedle Cartel kept on their work.[34]
Furthermore, the Darkfuse were concocting nefarious schemes in Undermine's sewers,[35] as well as in other delves around Khaz Algar. A group of them plundered a temple in Hallowfall, unleashing the dangers of the Old Gods, until Lamplighter Kaerter and Lamplighter Leif stopped them.
The investigation eventually led to Kaja'Coast[36] where the Darkfuse were jeopardizing the respect and trust the Bilgewater had earned with the Zandalari by having Venture Co. recklessly mine the Kaja'mite there. They were also having Steamwheedle alchemists conduct Black Blood experiments with Kaja'mite. The Darkfuse in charge, Overseer Dritz, had the alchemists killed once they discovered a way to stabilize the Black Blood using the mineral.[37] Renzik and adventurers dealt with the overseer before leaving.[38] In the aftermath, the Bilgewater Cartel regained control of the Kaja'Coast from the Darkfuse.
A short time later, the Steamwheedle Laboratories were attacked by ethereals led by Phase-Thief Azir, who killed all the Darkfuse guards searching for the Dark Heart.[39] Once the ethereals there were dealt with by Gazlowe and his allies, Marin informed them about the hostages and that the Darkfuse were holding them in a warehouse near the Heaps, the same place as the Dark Heart's location.[17] The Darkfuse at the warehouse were also slain by the ethereals,[40] who were in turn dispatched by Gazlowe, Renzik, and adventurers. By the time the hostages were rescued, Gallywix was in the nearby cave with the Dark Heart having finally been repaired.[19]
As the group confronted Gallywix, the Overboss of Undermine, he activated a barrier to keep them at bay. In the midst of Gallywix's gloating, Azir appeared. Gallywix relinquished the Dark Heart to the ethereal, believing him to be an agent of Xal'atath. Gazlowe warned him that whatever Xal'atath promised wasn't worth it. However, Gallywix was unmoved, declaring that it was his town and that when he returned he would bury them underneath it and promptly teleported away.[41]

Not long after, Gallywix sent Nikki and Darkfuse assassins after Gazlowe, but the Bilgewater Trade Prince was rescued by Renzik, who sacrificed himself in the process.[42] After informing the other cartel leaders of Renzik's fate, they united behind Gazlowe to put an end to Gallywix's tyranny.[43] To defeat Gallywix and the Darkfuse, they first needed to eliminate his supply of Black Blood weapons, however. Thus, Revilgaz and Noggenfogger went to the Blackwater Marina to end the shipments coming from there, while Grimla headed to her own territory to cut off the Venture Company's support.[44]
In the Blackwater Marina, the Darkfuse came under attack by Fleet Master Seahorn, who charged ahead to fight them by himself, while Revilgaz and Marin sought the aid of the adventurers.[45] Revilgaz gave them a Blackwater cannon and told them to collect cannon balls scattered around the marina to fire on the Darkfuse vessels.[46] After Dockmaster Skeez, the Darkfuse boss who had commandeered the loading dock of the Port Authority when the Blackwater Cartel fell under Darkfuse control, was killed, the Blackwater Cartel managed to retake the marina.[47]
When a massive riot against his rule began in the streets of Undermine, Gallywix ordered Nikki and the Darkfuse to stop them. After Nikki was killed, Xal'atath appeared before him, demanding the Dark Heart. Confused, Gallywix told her that he gave it to her ethereal friend, but the Harbinger denied that she was working with the ethereals. Trying to salvage the situation, Gallywix promised to fix things if she helped him stop their rebellion, but Xal'atath believed he had outlived his usefulness. She quickly departed, remarking that she would enjoy watching them tear him apart. Furious, Gallywix declared that he didn't need anyone and promised that they would all pay in blood.[48]
Gallywix called on every favor owed to protect him, and the Darkfuse took to the streets of Undermine, while he barricaded himself within the Gallagio. After Gallywix's cronies were dealt with, Gazlowe salvaged their tech and created a war tank with the other cartel leaders to breach the hotel's defenses. They fought their way through the Gallagio until they reached the Overboss himself. Cornered, Gallywix entered his mech and decided to deal with them himself. When the mech was destroyed by the heroes, Gallywix became enraged and exited its remains, repeatedly kicking it while demanding it come back online. The mech promptly gave away and fell atop Gallywix, crushing the Overboss to death.[49]
Following Gallywix's demise, what remained of Darkfuse Enforcement rebranded to Darkfuse Solutions and, tired of following around the next high-paying bad guy, enlisted the aid of adventurers to help them figure out their new direction. In a warehouse in Hovel Hill, adventurers were to deliver their market research to Sitch Lowdown. However, after trying to pivot to a variety of different products and collecting enough market research, the Darkfuse concluded that while the cartel needed to go legit, they didn't have to change their business of making weapons.[1]

Notes
- The current full name of the cartel is Darkfuse Solutions LLC.[1]
- Blackfuse Company members are mistakenly labeled as Venture Company in the garrison mission
Profitable Machinations. The Iron Engineers found in Mor'gran Logworks are possibly also mislabeled.
- During the war in Draenor, the Blackfuse Company had an "Ogron Safety & Health Advisory Board".[50]
