Faerin Lothar (/ˈfeɪ.rɪn/ FAY-rin) is a Lamplighter of the Hallowfall Arathi. A member of the noble Lothar family, she stowed away on the Hallowfall Expedition as a child. She lost her left arm and eye in the process, but has since learned to fight with a prosthetic shield. She seeks allies willing to venture into the shadows and teach her people it is something to be faced, not feared.[3]

Biography

Faerin was born in the Arathi Empire into the noble Lothar family.[4] She has childhood memories of watching military parades through the city streets and of her parents taking her to visit a park near where they lived.[5] Faerin had a strained relationship with her family, who had only ever seen her as a failure[6] and a disappointment; according to her, her parents would prefer her to be "locked in a library, drafting documents on economics or something".[7] She was not supposed to be part of the Hallowfall Expedition, but stowed away on it both to escape her family[6] and because she, too, heard the call of Beledar.[7]

When the expedition's airships were transported into Hallowfall, Faerin became trapped under rubble and lost her left eye and arm,[7] but during the event she also saved the Eternal Flame from snuffing out by preserving its embers, at risk to her own life.[1][8] General Steelstrike dug Faerin out of the wreckage and told her that her decision to stow away made her a soldier, not a child.[7] The Orphanage in Mereldar was built to accommodate Faerin, who was the only child in Hallowfall at the time; to this day, she visits the Orphanage whenever she can.[9] Faerin wanted to live up to Steelstrike's expectations and trained endlessly to become as good as the rest of the Army. Her missing arm meant she had to relearn everything from sword fighting to dressing herself.[7]

While on a training exercise outside Mereldar, Faerin, at this time part of the reserves, was sparring with Meradyth Lacke, a tradition-bound reservist critical of Faerin's unconventional methods. Their duel was interrupted by Beledar suddenly shifting, plunging the area into darkness, and heralding a nerubian attack. Faerin ignored orders to retreat, choosing instead to rescue soldiers, including Meradyth, trapped by nerubians. In the chaos, Faerin's close friend, the blacksmith Ryton Blackholme, was captured and taken away while trying to help her. After the attack, Faerin was reprimanded harshly by General Steelstrike for her recklessness, blamed indirectly for Ryton's fate, and forced into partnership with Meradyth as punishment to temper her impulsiveness. Faerin was left to grapple with the guilt and the heavy cost of her actions.[2]

After Beledar's light stabilized, Faerin defied General Steelstrike's orders and secretly left the barracks, determined to search for Ryton. She enlisted help from two of Ryton's oldest friends, Eoghan Knatley and Andryck Carltyn, who secured airship clearance and brought along Ryton's lynx, Blazeclaw. Just before departing, Meradyth confronted them, initially objecting but reluctantly agreeing to join after realizing Faerin would not be dissuaded. Meradyth's only condition was that they turn back if Ryton's trail led beyond Arathi territory, to which Faerin agreed, and the group set out together.[2]

They traveled by airship to Beledar's Bounty, finding it destroyed by nerubians. While Eoghan and Andryck returned to inform the army, Faerin and Meradyth tracked the attackers into caves, eventually discovering the wreck of The Valiant Ghost, an old airship lost during their initial arrival in Hallowfall. Haunted by traumatic memories (her lost sister having been aboard the airship), Meradyth fell into a crevasse, but Faerin saved her, forcing Meradyth to confront her crippling fear of darkness. Following Ryton's lynx deeper into the caves, they encountered a large group of nerubians and found survivors trapped in cocoons. A brutal battle ensued, with Eoghan and Andryck arriving just in time to help. During the battle, Faerin inspired Meradyth to overcome her fear and finally wield the Sacred Flame. Together, they defeated the nerubians and rescued the villagers, though Faerin sadly confirmed Ryton's death.[2]

Three days after returning, Faerin was dismissed from the Arathi army by General Steelstrike due to her reckless actions, despite successfully rescuing villagers from Beledar's Bounty. Faerin accepted her dismissal, realizing she would never fit within the strict army structure. However, she confronted Steelstrike, crediting the general's past bravery for inspiring her own actions. Uncertain about her future, Faerin was soon approached by the Great Kyron and Andari of the Lamplighters, as well as Meradyth. Inspired by Faerin's courage and the Sacred Flame she rekindled within her, Meradyth decided to leave the Priory to become a Lamplighter and recommended Faerin join as well. Faerin, deeply moved, accepted the invitation from the Great Kyron to join the Lamplighters, embracing her true purpose.[2]

After joining the Lamplighters, Faerin became friends with Andari, who got her into playing Light's Gambit to learn strategy (as well as to get her to rest). When they lost game pieces, Faerin and Andari made new ones. The latter's companionship helped Faerin mentally heal from her trauma.[7] The Arathi's head armorer Raen Dawncavalyr made a shield for Faerin to wear in place of her lost arm.[10]

The War Within

Faerin in World of Warcraft.

During the war in Khaz Algar, the nerubians attacked the Aegis Wall. Faerin and General Steelstrike's army retreated to Durnelle's Kindness. Faerin was arguing with Steelstrike over abandoning their troops when Anduin Wrynn, and other outsiders accompanying him, arrived in Hallowfall searching for the Arathi. While Steelstrike was wary of the outsiders, Faerin welcomed any assistance in their war against Azj-Kahet.[11] They joined Faerin in providing support at the Aegis Wall, where they met the Great Kyron.[12] To reinspire their forces, Faerin tasked them with empowering the keyflame.[13] She also requested they collect the tinderboxes of fallen Arathi to honor their sacrifices.[14]

Faerin lighting the dawntower with the Great Kyron.

When the nerubians advanced on Tenir's Ascent, they rushed to defend the airdocks.[15] While Anduin protected the ships, Faerin and Kyron worked to light a dawntower in preparation for Beledar's shift.[16] After regrouping with Anduin—who had found Alleria Windrunner—they witnessed Beledar's shift.[17] Alleria departed after hearing whispers from Xal'atath, while Faerin invited Anduin to join her patrol to light the dawntowers. She explained that the Lamplighters' duty was to ignite the dawntowers during the shifts and protect civilians from the encroaching darkness. During their patrol, they learned that the kobyss were raiding Sina's Yearning and that the army was trying to repel the attack. Upon arrival, Faerin clashed with Steelstrike once more—Steelstrike wanted to prioritize securing the village, while Faerin insisted on rescuing the captives before it was too late.[18]

Steelstrike and her soldiers decided to focus on fighting the kobyss, while Faerin and Anduin went to rescue the captured fishermen. After rescuing them, the fishermen thanked them for their aid, with one of them revealing to Anduin that Faerin's last name was Lothar.[19] Faerin then sent adventurers to reinforce Sina's Yearning, while she and Anduin escorted the civilians to Lorel's Crossing. As they walked, Anduin inquired about Faerin's last name and revealed that he was named after Anduin Lothar, a great Alliance hero from the Eastern Kingdoms. She surmised that they were distant relatives, with his branch of the family staying in the old world. When they regrouped with General Steelstrike, a wave of shadow suddenly passed through the town.[4]

Realizing the disturbance came from a Dawntower, Faerin and Anduin went to investigate, despite Steelstrike's protests. There, they discovered that the Order of Night had corrupted the eternal flame, but Alleria swiftly eliminated them. She attempted to interrogate their leader, Aelric Leid, but he managed to escape. Faerin revealed that Aelric was once a Lamplighter, but he betrayed the Arathi and killed her friend Andari. Now, he leads the Order of Night.[20] Faerin attempted to cleanse the flames, but the darkness proved too strong. Alleria urged Anduin to call upon the Light to assist her, however, he doubted that he was capable. They searched the Dawntower for clues about what the Order did and discovered notes that revealed they had a base nearby.[21] Faerin suspected the remaining cultists were empowering the corruption and resolved to stop them before the darkness could spread. Before they could leave, they were ambushed by shadow creatures. Alleria ordered Faerin and Anduin to continue ahead to Gloomcrag Bower while she dealt with the monsters. Upon reaching the Order's hideout, they slew the cultists inside. Though Faerin knew it was necessary, she regretted killing them, as they had once been her allies and mentors.[22]

Faerin, Anduin and an adventurer facing a shadow elemental.

Within the cave, they also encountered priests conducting a ritual to summon a powerful shadow elemental. Despite killing them, the creature still emerged from the rift. Anduin attempted to call upon the Light once more but failed. Though they managed to defeat the elemental, Faerin questioned Anduin about his inability to use the Light. He solemnly responded that he was no longer worthy.[23] As they prepared to leave, they found their path barred by shadows. Anduin began to despair, fearing they were trapped, but Faerin refused to give up and urged him to stay strong, insisting that they could overcome it if they stuck together. As they fought waves of shadow creatures, Anduin questioned Faerin what would happen if the Light abandoned her or if she failed her people. Faerin admitted to past failures, revealing that she had stowed away to Hallowfall to escape a family that saw her as a failure. She lost an eye and an arm in the process but did not see it as a mistake or believe it made her unworthy of the Light. She fought because it was the only choice in the darkness. Anduin then confessed that he had hurt people while under the control of Zovaal and, disturbingly, had enjoyed it. Faerin challenged the notion, asking if he enjoyed hurting others or simply the release from constant doubt and overthinking. She reassured him that doubt and mistakes did not make him unworthy but instead helped light his path forward. They eventually found the exit, but it was blocked by an illusion from Xal'atath. Fortunately, Alleria had arrived and dispelled the Harbinger's tricks. As they exited the cave, they saw that Beledar had shifted back to light.[6]

Cleansing the dawntower with Anduin.

They regrouped at the dawntower and tried to cleanse the flames again. Faerin invited Anduin to join her in the ritual, and while he was initially hesitant, Anduin accepted. Faerin recited the Lamplighter's oath and channeled the light into the fire. To Anduin's surprise, the light enveloped him as well, and the flames were restored. With the dawntower safe, they returned to Mereldar to warn General Steelstrike that the Order of Night were working with Xal'atath.[24]

After alerting the General, they were given a brief moment of respite and went to a nearby inn to relax.[5] While Alleria and Anduin had a private discussion, Faerin visited Raen Dawncavalyr regarding her prosthetics. Raen presented her with a newly designed prosthetic arm, but Faerin politely declined, preferring the shield Raen had made for her. Concerned about Faerin's discomfort and mobility issues, Raen tried to convince her, but Faerin reassured her that she had long since adapted to her injury. Instead, she suggested that Raen focus on upgrading her shield to withstand the increasing nerubian attacks.[25] Afterward, Faerin went to the Orphanage to read to the children, until she was alerted to an attack at the Veneration Grounds.[9]

Confronting Aelric before the corrupted Eternal Flame.

She regrouped with Alleria, Anduin, General Steelstrike, and her troops and found that Aelric Leid was trying to corrupt the Eternal Flame.[26] As they fought the kobyss, Aelric's ritual caused Beledar to shift towards shadow. Alleria brought down his barrier, and they slayed the cultist. However, Aelric completed his ritual and corrupted the flame. General Steelstrike declared that the Sacred Flame was lost and ordered a retreat, but Faerin refused and urged them to stand against the darkness. Looking up at the darkened Beledar, she proclaimed that while Beledar had guided them, it would not be what saved them. Steelstrike questioned what they would do if they fell to the darkness, but Faerin, glancing at Anduin as he joined her, replied that: "The Light will return, even if someone else carries the torch." Steelstrike's soldiers rallied behind her and, together, they cleansed the Eternal Flame, allowing Beledar to shift back to light.[27]

Shortly after securing the Veneration Grounds, they were alerted to another attack at Livia's Patience. By the time they arrived, the village had already been overrun by nerubians.[28] General Steelstrike tasked Faerin and the others with evacuating the civilians to the Reckoning, while she and her troops prepared it for launch.[29] Faerin also rallied the reserve members of the army within the village to help fend off the assault.[30] Once the evacuation was complete, they prepared for takeoff. However, the nerubians primed their siege weapons against the airship. Anduin leaped down to destroy them but was captured in the process. In response, Alleria and Faerin unleashed the Reckoning's arsenal, driving the nerubians back before attempting to rescue Anduin. As they pursued them, the Reckoning was shot down over the Whispering Chasm. Fortunately, a mysterious woman intervened, helping them survive the crash.[31]

While Faerin wanted to regroup with their allies, Alleria insisted on rescuing Anduin and left to find him. Faerin tasked adventurers with finding the woman who had saved them, while she led the others to safety.[32] She established a small camp in Azj-Kahet named Faerin's Advance and took in some survivors from Dalaran.[33] As the Arathi tended to them, they learned that they escaped from Rak-Zakaz due to conflicting orders from the guards, but Flynn Fairwind had stayed.[34] Refusing to leave anyone behind, Faerin sent adventurers to rescue Flynn and to see if they could find anything useful at the prison.[35]

Faerin later went to Dornogal to help rebuild the Arathi's relationship with the Earthen.[36]

Upon hearing that Queen Ansurek and Zev'kall planned to attack Hallowfall, Widow Arak'nai sent Monte Gazlowe to aid Faerin in repelling the assault.[37] Based on the Widow's information, Faerin didn't think they could beat them in a direct confrontation. She also revealed a personal motive—she believed they were keeping one of her old friends, a blacksmith named Ryton Blackholme, captive, and needed to learn what had happened to him. Gazlowe proposed attacking them from behind and using a bag of Betelsnax to sabotage their ballistae.[38] They headed to Arathi's End[39] and launched their counterattack against the encroaching nerubians.[40] As they fought the invaders, they rescued Sir Ashrealm, who revealed that Mother Aza'na and Anub'ilith knew what happened to Ryton before passing. After confronting the nerubians, they revealed that they had killed Ryton, and the only thing that remained of him was his breastplate.[41]

Before she could mourn her friend, Faerin resolved to end Zev'kall's plan. The ascended general was overseeing the creation of a void-corrupted nerubian monstrosity that he planned on unleashing against Hallowfall. They found Zev'kall's lair and slayed his pet.[42] With the nerubians driven back, they returned to Mereldar to honor Ryton and Ashrealm's deaths.[43] They burnt Ashrealm's tinderbox and Ryton's breastplate and said their farewells to their fallen comrades.[44]

Playing Light's Gambit with Anduin.

Still mourning Andari's death, Faerin became withdrawn. In response, Great Kyron called upon Anduin Wrynn and her outsider friend to check in on her. They found her at Light's Redoubt and inquired about her loss. Faerin told them that she didn't get a chance to say goodbye to them, but didn't wish to dwell on it.[45] While Anduin accompanied Faerin back to Mereldar, he tasked adventurers with finding Andari's tinderbox in order to give them their funeral rites. Though they couldn't find the tinderbox, they did recover a game piece Andari made for Light's Gambit. Faerin revealed that they played it a lot together and when they lost a piece, Andari would make a new one.[46] Thinking it would cheer her up, Anduin proposed they play a few rounds and collected a set from the townsfolk.[47] After the game, Faerin thanked them for playing with her. Anduin then suggested they try a game he had learned in Pandaria next time.[48]

When Xal'atath decided to make her move, the nerubians launched an all-out assault on Hallowfall. Faerin defended the Aegis Wall alongside General Steelstrike and her troops, until the Horde, Alliance, and Earthen armies arrived to provide reinforcements.[49] During the battle, Alleria sensed something wrong and used her powers to tap into the Unseeming. She saw that the Black Blood was moving towards the Priory of the Sacred Flame and believed this attack to be a diversion. She, alongside Anduin, Faerin, and adventurers boarded the Dawnbreaker and went to the Priory. There, they saw it wreathed in shadow and went to light the braziers to drive back the darkness. As they advanced towards Xal'atath, their path was barred by Queen Neferess. They fought the Broken Queen until they realized she was trying to resist the Harbinger's commands and opted to subdue her instead. Faerin remained outside to hold off Xal'atath's forces, while Anduin and Alleria confronted her.[50] In the aftermath of their victory, Faerin thanked the outsiders for their aid in saving Hallowfall.[51]

Sometime after the Harbinger's attack, Faerin decided to accept Anduin's invitation to come along when it was time to leave Hallowfall and go back to the outside world, feeling that that was what she was meant to do. One day, as she waited in Great Kyron's office to inform them that she was leaving the Lamplighters, she reminisced on her past. Stealing away on Ariah's Ascent, believing she was avoiding a destiny stuck amidst dusty histories and decrepit parchments. Growing up in the orphanage under the care of Sygfraed Siegepyr who used to read her bedtime stories such as the The Ballad of Craishae the First Flame when she was a kid. Helping Sygfraed out in the orphanage as a teenager as other children joined along the years. The night when the Sacred Flame first burst to life within her was when she protected one of the children and herself in the orphanage during a nerubian attack on Mereldar.[52]

When Great Kyron finally arrived, she revealed to them her intentions. Having witnessed Faerin the past weeks rally to the defense of not just Hallowfall but the whole of Khaz Algar, Kyron was not surprised at the news. They gave Faerin their blessing and dismissed her to make preparations for her departure. Faerin also informed Meradyth Lacke and the other lamplighters who had gathered at the inn in Mereldar and who had a farewell celebration in her honor. Next, she had a tearful goodbye with General Steelstrike and visited Ryton's lynx, Blazeclaw, at the stables. Finally, she said goodbye to Andari while standing at their favorite spot, a rise of rock near the bridge to the Dayspring Fields. Once Faerin was ready to leave, she met with Anduin and Jaina in Dornogal. Anduin was happy to see she had taken him up on his offer and introduced her to Danath Trollbane before they departed for the Eastern Kingdoms.[52]

Legacy of Arathor

Faerin talking with King Danath Trollbane.

When Faerin learned of tensions between the Mag'har orcs and Stromgarde, she volunteered to accompany Overlord Geya'rah and Danath Trollbane back to the Arathi Highlands to diffuse the situation and learn more of her Arathi heritage. While Geya'rah was willing to let her come, Danath was only convinced after she told them that her adventurer friend would be joining them as well. Upon arriving at the Highlands, Faerin was awestruck by the sight of Thoradin's Wall, having only heard stories of it. Danath, however, dismissed it as just a wall. When Faerin asked if he wasn't proud of his heritage, Danath replied that he was, but warned that excessive reverence for their legends often fueled sentiments of Stromic superiority and justified aggression toward their neighbors. He explained that his decision to journey to Khaz Algar was not well-received in Stromgarde, but it was the duty of the Sons of Lothar to promote tolerance and mercy. Their conversation was cut short by a cry for help from a bandit attack. After dispatching the bandits, Faerin tended to Maggie Wiltshire.[53] Upon learning that the attacks were perpetrated by a group called the Red Dawn, supposedly led by Danath's imprisoned niece, Marran, Danath and Faerin continued on to Stromgarde, while Geya'rah departed for Hammerfall to check on her people.[54]

While Danath debriefed Veronica Nials and Captain Roderick Brewston, Faerin and the adventurer set out to aid the people of Stromgarde. Together, they dispersed Marran's supporters and delivered Brewston's requests for additional supplies.[55][56] When they were finished, Colonel Nials relayed a request from Danath for Faerin to meet with Marran, while he went to Hammerfall to meet with Geya'rah. Despite her elven heritage, Marran tried to convince Faerin to join her cause to restore Stromgarde, believing that the return of a Lothar would inspire hope. However, Faerin refused to betray Danath, believing Marran's promises to be hollow. She tried to convince Colonel Nials that their conversation all but confirmed Marran as the Red Dawn's leader, but Nials remained skeptical, noting that she personally oversaw all of Marran's visitors.[57]

Determined to warn Danath, Faerin set out for Refuge Pointe, where he was likely resting during his travels. Along the way, she came across the bodies of slain Refuge Pointe civilians and Red Dawn soldiers and stopped to investigate. Tracking the footsteps of one of the victims led her to Karga Bloodfury, who revealed that Horde outposts had also been targeted.[58] As the adventurer confronted the leader of the attacks and recovered stolen supplies, Karga revealed that Geya'rah had never summoned Danath to Hammerfall.[59][60]

Upon arriving in Hammerfall, Eitrigg informed Faerin that Danath had never arrived, but assured her they would aid in the search.[61] While the outriders searched for Danath, Eitrigg welcomed Faerin to Hammerfall. Faerin questioned why the Horde would assist the humans despite their shared history, to which Eitrigg responded that a human had once shown him great kindness and now he strives to honor his memory by protecting the weak and defenseless. Faerin was surprised by the similarities between the orcs and the Arathi, noting that while both of their peoples were born from war, their shared sense of honor and duty rivaled one another.[62]

Faerin decided to inform Geya'rah, who had been fending off troll attacks at Go'Shek Farm, about Danath's disappearance. They found her speaking with Barclay, a member of the Syndicate who had deserted the Red Dawn and was offering information in exchange for assistance.[63] Although Geya'rah wanted to help search for Danath, she first needed to finish dealing with the Witherbark trolls, and tasked Faerin and the adventurer with eliminating them.[64] Barclay also agreed to share what he knew, if they rescued his brothers from the Witherbark. While freeing Barclay's brothers, they learned that the Red Dawn had ordered the Syndicate to attack the trolls and frame it on Hammerfall, in order to draw away its defenders and pave the way for an assault.[65]

Faerin returns to see Hammerfall alight.

When they returned to Hammerfall, they found it overrun by the Syndicate.[66] After retaking the town, an outrider informed them of an ambushed Stromic caravan. When they reached the site, they discovered all the soldiers dead, apparently slain with orcish weapons.[67] Upon closer examination, it revealed that Danath was not among the dead; the weapons, though orcish in origin, differed from those used by Hammerfall; and there were signs of the Red Dawn's involvement. They concluded that it was a false flag attack by the Red Dawn to set Stromgarde and Hammerfall to destroy each other, leaving them in power.[68] While Geya'rah and Eitrigg set out for Ar'gorok to search for Danath, Faerin and Alliance adventurers returned to Stromgarde to warn Veronica Nials.[69]

Despite explaining the situation to the colonel, Nials refused to aid in the search. When Faerin questioned why she wasn't doing more to help find the lord of Stromgarde, Marran revealed that Nials' true allegiance belonged to her, and with her uncle gone she was now free to do as she wished. Marran ordered her soldiers to restrain them and took Faerin to the mage tower. Fortunately, Captain Roderick Brewston remained loyal to Danath and freed the adventurer.[70] Roderick revealed that while some were complicit in Marran's coup, most of Stromgarde's army were loyal to Danath, but she had her own personal army, the Red Dawn, waiting for them. He went to rally Danath's loyalists and tasked them with finding Faerin. When they found her, Faerin revealed that Marran planned to amass her troops at the gate. They regrouped with Brewston and Geya'rah, who had arrived to inform them that they had found Danath and that he and Eitrigg went to confront Marran.[71]

Danath prevents Faerin's killing blow on Marran.

Geya'rah and Faerin went to support Danath, while Roderick gathered their troops to cover their rear. Along the way, they slew the leader of the Scarlet Crusaders among Marran's army, Joseph the Enlightened, right as he was about to get away a third time. When they found Eitrigg and Danath, Faerin faced Marran herself. She managed to disarm her and was about to strike her down, but Danath stayed her hand, not wanting her to become a martyr. He declared that history would remember Faerin for sparing Marran and how the Red Dawn disappeared from the Highlands forever. Marran told him that this wasn't over and left with her followers.[72]

Faerin and Danath looking at Thoradin's Wall.

In the aftermath, Faerin strode off for the countryside to check on Refuge Pointe and Newstead, but Danath believed that she wanted space from Stromgarde and went to check in on her. When Danath arrived, he apologized for Stromgarde not living up to her expectations, but Faerin admitted he was right and that she was too naive. However, Danath believed he was the one who was wrong, as despite Thoradin's Wall being just a wall, what it represented existed in Faerin. He explained that she has been his guiding light, saving his life and reminding him of his true mission. While she may look to the past, Danath sees the future in her and is happy for it. Faerin believed that what Marran truly wanted wasn't a new dawn, but for them to return here for their people. Afterwards, Faerin decided to stay in Stromgarde for a bit to help Danath and Eitrigg clean up Marran's mess.[73]

Midnight

Midnight This section concerns content related to Midnight.

Faerin was a part of the Vanguard of the Light summoned to defend the Sunwell from Xal'atath. She held a protective barrier for wounded soldiers. After the Devouring Host's initial assault was fought off, Faerin was one of the Light-wielders who was continuously channeling Light into the Sunwell to keep the Voidstorm at bay.[74]

Personality

Many among the Arathi look up to Faerin as a figurehead and a beacon of positivity.[10] She gets herself into danger more than anyone else, but has been able to endure the land's adversity better than most Arathi.[5] On the other hand, her efforts to be seen as strong and earn her place as a soldier means she has some difficulty "[letting] the walls down" and displaying emotional vulnerability, such as her grief over the recent death of Andari.[7] Having spent most of her life in Hallowfall, she considers it to be her home and is not interested in returning to the Empire.[7]

Faerin is not interested in getting a prosthetic arm, since she has learned to navigate life with only one arm and doesn't want to relearn everything—though, however, she's not opposed to an improved shock absorber on her shield.[10]
