The Arathi are the people of the Arathi Empire and its Hallowfall Expedition. They are mixed-race descendants of humans from Arathor and high elves from Quel'Thalas[4][5] who long ago left the Eastern Kingdoms and traveled across the sea[6][7] to a landmass where they founded the new Arathi Empire together. The two peoples became one and have remained united ever since. As such, modern Arathi do not consider themselves humans, elves, or half-elves, only Arathi.[4][8] They vary in appearance between more human-like and more elf-like. The majority of Arathi individuals have a predominantly human appearance but with slightly pointed ears. A handful look like high elves with shorter ears, and a few are entirely human in appearance with round ears.
Notes
- The Arathi remind Alleria Windrunner of her half-elf son, Arator.[9]
- The earthen initially mistook Anduin Wrynn for an Arathi on his arrival to Dornogal.[10][11]
- Arathi ear customizations on humans and Kul Tirans were made available to players with patch 11.0.7.
