Ben Howell was a human located in Lakeshire in the Redridge Mountains. He can initially be seen working around his house.
After helping his family with chores, the Scourge suddenly attacked the village. He died defending his family from the undead. Found by Kleia and the Maw Walker in the Veil, the hero relived Ben's memories, after which Kleia brought Ben to the Shadowlands as her final test to become a Kyrian ascendant.[1] Upon arriving in Oribos, however, Kleia was disturbed that all souls were going to the Maw instead of to their rightful afterlives; as kyrian are only charged with delivering the souls rather than judging them, she could only watch as Ben was condemned to the Maw as well.[2]
