Lumberjack
- This article is about the profession. For the NPC with the same name, see Lumberjack (NPC).
Lumberjacks (or loggers, woodcutters and woodsmen) harvest lumber of trees in areas that contain them.[1][2] After which, they usually transport them to a nearby lumber mill to be processed.
Orc peons act as lumber harvesters for the Horde[3][4] while Alliance deploy human peasants. Undead ghouls and wisps can also act as lumber harvesters.
Sometimes they are replaced by shredders produced by engineers.[5]
Alliance's commandojacks are similar to lumberjacks, only highly trained in the art of killing trees,[6] while timber lords are the Horde variant.[7]
After trees are fell, woodworkers then work with the wood.
A good woodsman makes use of every available resource. Even from the most bizarre creatures.[8]
Activities
- The Warsong clan in Ashenvale leave trees rot while their blades bite into fresh trees[9]
- A colony of woodsmen lives in Grizzly Hills.
- On alternate Draenor, Barov Industries deals with woodcutting.
In the RPG
Tinkers can make self-propelled mechanical lumberjacks, which may be huge and weigh thousands of pounds.[10]
