- Zaralek Cavern
Flightstones are a marvel. There is so much to discover in this underground cavern. We are within the literal foundation of the Isles themselves. What can I do for you?
I would like to exchange my Shadowflame Crests.
How do I acquire Flightstones and Shadowflame Crests?
Flightstones are located all over the Dragon Isles and can be rewarded by opening outdoor treasures, completing world quests, participating in weekly events, dungeons, and raids.
Shadowflame Crest fragments can be acquired in similar fashion. There are four tiers of fragments that combine into whole crests. The more dangerous the adventure you overcome, the more powerful the fragments you will find.
Tell me about upgrading gear using Flightstones and Shadowflame Crests.
Most upgrades will require Flightstones. More powerful upgardes will require more Flightstones.
Upgrading gear labeled as Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, or Hero may require you to acquire additional Shadowflame Crests. These crests imbue a power that Flightstones alone cannot match. Mythic gear is so powerful that even a Crest cannot upgrade it.
If you bring us a piece of equipment less powerful than your equipped gear, it will be cheaper to upgrade and won't require a crest. Our upgrade specialists are quite good at leaning on your own power to save costs when possible.
- Original in Zaralek Cavern
Flightstones was a power originally harnessed by the dracthyr. It has now been rediscovered underground, the literal foundation of strength and power of this land.
What can I do for you?
- In the Emerald Dream
Look at this place! There is so much to explore and take in.
If my bet is correct--and it usually is--there are more adventures to be found out there. The possibilities are endless!

Look at this place! There is so much to explore and take in. If my bet is correct--and it usually is--we could use Flightstones with Crests from around the Dream to upgrade the adventuring gear you find here! The possibilities, if not the sheer power alone, should be more than rewarding.
Now, how can I help you?

Tell me about upgrading gear using Flightstones and Dreaming Crests.
Most upgrades will require a varied amount of Flightstones.
Upgrading gear labeled as Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Myth usually requires the addition of Dreaming Crests. You will need fifteen Crests of the appropriate power level for each upgrade. Cuzolth will let you know which kind of Crest you need for each upgrade.
If you bring us a piece of equipment less powerful than your equipped gear, it will be cheaper to upgrade and won't require any crests. In this way, we can lean on your own existing power to improve less-powerful gear when possible.

- Valdrakken
Oh, hello!
Cuzolth and I have been working with Flightstones and these new Awakened Crests that have been appearing around the Isles. He'll be able to help you upgrade your latest adventuring gear with them. Me? I'm still experimenting with Crest transmutation.
These new Crests seem to tap into the power of the Isles themselves. What a wonder!

Upgrades all require some Flightstones, so it's a good idea to be on the lookout for them.

If you bring us a piece of equipment less powerful than another piece of gear you've already earned for the same slot, it will only cost half the usual amount of Flightstones and won't require any crests at all. So, for example, if you have a powerful cloak already, but you find a new cloak you want to empower up to that level, it'll be much cheaper.

- Dornogal
Greetings, friend!
Even after spending a considerable amount of time in Dornogal, we're still discovering new kinds of crests! These new Ethereal Crests are fascinating little artifacts that combine nicely with Valorstones.
And of course, Cuzolth has already already developed a way to use them to upgrade your latest adventuring gear. Me? I'm still researching Crest transmutation.
As usual.
Oh, I'm not complaining. I like being useful to you and the other adventurers. I would... rather stay behind here, myself. I'm not much of a fighter.

- Dornogal (Season 1)
Greetings, friend!
Cuzolth and I recently arrived here in Dornogal. It's really good that we did, too. These Valorstones and Harbinger Crests are fascinating little artifacts. He's already developed a way to use them to upgrade your latest adventuring gear. Me? I'm still experimenting with Crest transmutation.
As usual.
Oh, I'm not complaining. I like being useful to you and the other adventurers. I would... rather stay behind here, myself. I'm not much of a fighter.
Exceptional!
A keen-eyed messenger told me that you've collected a staggering amount of Flightstones by now, enough to upgrade quite a bit of gear.
Come visit me and Cuzolth in the heart of Loamm. We can experiment more with this new power. For your time, I've included a little something. Rather shiny. I hope to see you soon.

Patch changes
Hotfix (2025-03-07): Vaskarn now correctly sells
[Pack of Runed Undermine Crests].
Hotfix (2024-05-02): Vaskarn in the Emerald Dream no longer erroneously mentions that they can upgrade your gear with the use of
[Flightstones]. Vaskarn in Valdrakken is unchanged.
Patch 10.2.6a (2024-04-23): Emerald Dream vendor location no longer sells anything and she was added to Valdrakken.
Hotfix (2023-12-01): Vaskarn will now display her crest trade-up items to anyone who has earned the right to purchase them, even if they cannot currently purchase them because they are too close to the cap on the higher-level crest.
Patch 10.1.0 (2023-05-02): Added.
