Seasons of War
Seasons of War is the cinematic intro for World of Warcraft.
Cinematic
Transcript
It begins with an animated map of Azeroth, highlighting the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, and the Maelstrom while a female narrator briefly explains the recent history of the world following the events of the Battle for Mount Hyjal.
Four years have passed since the mortal races banded together and stood united against the might of the Burning Legion. Though Azeroth was saved, the tenuous pact between the Horde and the Alliance has all but evaporated. The drums of war thunder once again.
Several establishing shots are then shown, introducing several of the game's playable races and classes: a dwarf hunter, a night elf druid, a Forsaken warlock, a tauren shaman, an orc warrior, and a human mage. It then transitions into a series of sequences showing the various characters doing battle against each other, culminating with the tauren smashing a totem into the camera and the game's logo appearing.
Music
The song "Seasons of War" was featured as the seventh track on the World of Warcraft Soundtrack, and was composed by Jason Hayes.

Trivia
- This cinematic was unofficially remastered on November 27, 2019, by Upscale, using Machine Learning AI.
- The lyrics are "pretty much Latin," though they're not gramatically correct or coherent sentences. Instead they're a collection of concepts, like battle and honor, that fit the Warcraft setting. Liberties were also taken with the sounds of syllables in a few places to make the phrases flow better.[1]
- The cinematic is narrated by Debi Mae West.
