"The Shattering" is the main theme of World of Warcraft: Cataclysm, and was composed by Russell Brower, Derek Duke, Neal Acree, David Arkenstone, and Glenn Stafford.
Structure
The piece consists of twelve primary themes. It begins with the "Shattering" theme and a remix of "Legends of Azeroth", the main theme of World of Warcraft. The third theme is "Sacred" from vanilla World of Warcraft, which was composed by Jason Hayes. The fourth theme is "Cold Mountain" by Russell Brower, which plays in Dun Morogh, likely as a link to the new Twilight Highlands and the drained Loch brought by the Cataclysm. The fifth theme is "Moonglade" by Russel Brower, which plays in Moonglade. The sixth theme is "Lost Isles Rescue" by Derek Duke, a Goblin theme. The seventh theme is the middle section of "Legends of Azeroth". The eighth theme is "Invincible", the theme of the previous expansion's antagonist, Arthas Menethil. The ninth theme is "Eye of the Vortex" by Neal Acree. The tenth theme is "Alliance Hero" by Russell Brower, the theme for the Gilnean Worgen. The eleventh theme is "Gunships" which is from Fall of the Lich King but represents the Skyfire and its role in defeating Deathwing. The twelfth theme is "Grim Batol", a remix of "Ulduar Antechamber" by Russell Brower. The thirteenth and final theme is a remix of the third and final section of "Legends of Azeroth".
