Eternus is an infinite dragon that holds alligeance to the infinite dragonflight. Though initially opposed to Nozdormu and seeking the same goal of all infinites, the creation of Murozond, Eternus began to question the validity of her flight's pursuits after an encounter with Chromie. After Chrono-Lord Deios failed to bring about Murozond's rise, Eternus was contacted by Chromie and Nozdormu seeking a way to bridge the gap between the bronze dragonflight and the infinites. Though she does not agree with all of the notions of the bronze flight, Eternus did come to agree with the idea that forcing Nozdormu into being Murozond was wrong.
Coming to an agreement with Nozdormu, Eternus leads a splinter of the Infinite dragonflight to a less volatile future.
Eternus exhibits a deadly combination of keen intelligence and ruthless determination. She sees their infinite condition not as corruption, but as the inevitable evolution of dragonkind. Her view of the bronze's titan directive is as being heavily flawed and a subversion of dragonkind's true destiny.[1]
History
Following the death of her sister Moraidormi and being denied the chance to save her, Eternus embraced the ethos of the infinite dragonflight.[2]
Dragonflight

At the time of the war against the Primalists, Eternus attacked the Bronze Oathstone with the intention of turning Nozdormu into Murozond. However, she was interrupted by Chromie and according to Nozdormu the pair had "punched a tunnel through time and are tumbling endlessly amongst the infinite possibilities."[3] Nozdormu subsequently sent adventurers to rescue the pair, where the group ultimately found themselves at the height of the Black Empire, and worked with one another to escape back to the present.[4] Upon their return, Nozdormu allowed Eternus to leave in gratitude for her aid in helping Chromie return to them. However, before departing, Eternus declared that they would bring about his ultimate fate, a statement that Nozdormu met with resignation.[5]
Fury Incarnate
Following the events of the Dawn of the Infinite, Chromie arranged a meeting between Eternus and Nozdormu as the bronze dragons hoped to sway Eternus to their point of view. At this meeting, Nozdormu admitted that while their flights viewed the timeline differently, he hoped to discuss peace between them. An outraged Eternus declared that he had no idea what drove them to accept the infinites' ethos, causing him to ask her to help him understand as he sought to mend the rift between their people. Thus Eternus revealed that she joined infinite dragonflight due to the death of her sister Moraidormi and her not being allowed to save her.
Seeking to understand the infinites, Nozdormu allowed Eternus to show them the past and attempt to save her sister.[6] Through this, Nozdormu was able to make Eternus see that Moraidormi had chosen to sacrifice her own life to save a hidden bronze whelping. Eternus subsequently decided to respect her sister's choice and they returned to the present. Upon their return, Eternus questioned if Nozdormu was going to tell her that he was right, only for the Timeless One to admit that he wasn't because Moraidormi's death was a tragedy, that shouldn't have happened. He then revealed that as a steward of the timeline he must always take the greater good and free will of others into account, but that Eternus had reminded him that compassion must be considered and the one thing he agreed with the infinites with was that some events were worth changing because their hearts wished it so. In response, Eternus acknowledged that he never wished to become Murozond, that she herself must remember compassion, how it told her to follow him as he was, and promised to speak with the other infinites.[7]
As a gesture of goodwill, Eternus pledged her assistance in finding the disc that contained Tyr's memories, and traveled to Tyrhold with Chromie and Nozdormu.[8] While Chromie and Eternus worked together to locate the disc, they tasked the adventurer with aiding Travard in restoring the Tyr's Guard.[9] With the Tyr Guard restored, Chromie and Eternus revealed where they needed to travel in order to use the infinite beacons to pinpoint the disc's location.[10] Thus the group discovered that the disc was in the Nighthold, with Chromie noting that the disc was in the possession of Elisande, a powerful master of magic who would know the disc's power.[11]
Guardians of the Dream
Eternus was amongst those who came to Alexstrasza's aid when she was attacked by Fyrakk the Blazing. In the battle that followed, she fought side by side with Chromie, while maintaining their friendly rivalry.[12]
She assisted the Tyr's Guard to the Nighthold.[13]
She also attended the gathering in Amirdrassil when it bloomed on the Dragon Isles after Fyrakk's death.[14]
Pandaria Remix
Eternus had herself questioning the rest of the "true timeline" and wondered if other moments of sorrow or anger had life-saving consequences. Thus she and other like-minded members of the Infinite dragonflight turned to the events of Mists of Pandaria and recruited Timerunners to aid them. As the Timerunners experienced the Pandaria Campaign, Eternus and the rest of the Infinites watched in the hopes that they could reflect on the past with a new perspective.
When other members of the Infinite like Archaios the Artificer opposed their efforts, Eternus instructed Timerunners to deal with them.[15]

Nozdormu just does not see what drives the infinite. That is his blind spot.

We have much to learn from the past.
Why is the infinite dragonflight here?
When Nozdormu showed me that my sister's death was her choice--her sacrifice--it made me question the rest of the "true timeline." What other moments of sorrow or anger had life-saving consequences?
When the mists of Pandaria parted, the Horde and Alliance brought their conflict to these shores and awoke a slumbering evil. But... perhaps it was all necessary to bring about a brighter future.
It is time to reflect on the past with a new perspective. That is why I am here, along with those of the infinite dragonflight whom I could convince to join me.
Does this mean you believe in the true timeline now?
I remain skeptical of Nozdormu's faith in it, but I am willing to give his wisdom the benefit of the doubt.
Help us or leave us to our work.
What is my mission? (response below)

What is my mission?
Relive this timeline so that we may observe its events from a new perspective.
We will be watching you.
What will be different?
We will equip you with an artifact of the infinite. A cloak that adapts and changes as you do.
Nozdormu is opposed to altering the past. But we are not doing so, are we? The events that transpire here will remain the same.
It is you who will be different.

Waiting is infuriating. But that is my role. Yours is to relive these fleeting moments, not dawdle at my side.

Notes
- While she uses the same model as the rest of her flight, Eternus has a unique skintone which sets her apart from other infinite dragons. Her scales are much darker than other infiites, and she has much more prominent highlights on her wings and chest.
