The Temporal Conflux,[60, 82] also known as the Bronze Temple,[1] is the seat of power and home[2] of the bronze dragonflight located in southeastern Thaldraszus, near the border of the Azure Span. Its vast libraries of knowledge contain the secrets of the timeways, as well as the Bronze Oathstone, which symbolizes the flight's true calling — the protection of the timeways.[3] Within the temple, the oathstone focuses the bronze dragons' power and allows them freedom to travel to whichever time they need to.[4] The area is an incongruous outpouring of shining, windswept sand that splays out against the southern mountain range of Thaldraszus. Its shifting patterns never leave the area, for all they constantly remake themselves into mysterious ridges.[5]

The Sacred Hourglass is located at the temple, and the hourglass found in the Caverns of Time is a perfect replica of the one first created here. A portion of sand from this sacred vessel was even carried upon Nozdormu's shoulder until its use in defeating Deathwing. In a similar reflection, the temple structures at the Temporal Conflux lend many unique features to the bronze's anomalous lair in southern Kalimdor. From within the Sanctum of Chronology, the Aspect of Time is able to directly access the timeways, allowing him to revisit any point in time, including the very moment of his own demise.[6]

The temple's gate also leads to the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon since patch 10.1.5.

Dragonflight

The Timewalkers confront Eternus at the temple.

Following the awakening of the Dragon Isles in 40 ADP, the Temporal Conflux became the base of operations of the bronze dragonflight and Timewalkers.

When Eternus and the infinite dragonflight attacked the temple to corrupt the Bronze Oathstone, in order to turn Nozdormu into his dark alternate self Murozond, it caused the timeways to become chaotic.[7] While restoring stability, several Timewalkers were caught in stasis bubbles,[8] including Warden Captain Sinjoirmi and her agents,[9] as the Temporal Conflux's security measures had been activated during the attack.[10] After the stasis bubble was destroyed, all the time energy released manifested a Colossal Causality, which attacked the adventurers and their allies.[11]

When Chronormu and Eternus fell into an uncontrolled tumble through time,[12] Soridormi and the Timewalkers followed them into the Primalist Tomorrow, where the temple was under the control of the Primalists.[13] After both dragons returned to the present, the Bronze Oathstone reawakened.[14]

During the events of the Dawn of the Infinite, Chrono-Lord Deios and the infinite dragonflight invaded the Bronze Temple, twisting the timeways to herald the rise of Murozond.[15] While Nozdormu and Chromie repelled the Infinite reinforcements, the heroes defeated Chronikar within the Sanctum of Chronology, then used a time portal to enter the Millennia's Threshold. As the Manifested Timeways was unable to stop the Infinites as they crashed their way into the past, it tried to stop the Lord of Time and his allies when they restored the timeways.[16] Upon reaching the Spoke of Endless Winter, they discovered that Deios had returned to the time of Galakrond's fall and pursued him.

While they defeated his ally Iridikron, however, Deios managed to corrupt the proto-dragon version of Nozdormu into Murozond, and with this single time alteration, the infinite dragonflight changed the history of Azeroth. They created a new timeline - where Tyr never died and became a infinite-corrupt version of himself that guarded the Infinite Conflux, a corrupted version of the Temporal Conflux. In order to restore Azeroth's timeline, Chromie and her allies made their way back into the past to defeat Deios, saving the future at the cost of letting Iridikron escape with the empowered Dark Heart.[17]

In the aftermath, Nozdormu was found alongside Dragonqueen Alexstrasza at the Temporal Conflux, where he thanked the heroes for saving him from the fate that he thought was all but inevitable.[18]

Exploring Azeroth

In Year 42 ADP, Thalyssra and Lor'themar Theron traversed the Dragon Isles and visited the Temporal Conflux. Their hosts told them stories about Azmerloth and gave them the opportunity to peer into the past, but the elves refused.[5]

The Temporal Conflux serves as both the setting of the Across the Timeways expansion, and as an epic priest location via three time periods. The Past Conflux carries the following flavor text: For millennia, magic shrouded the Temporal Conflux and the rest of the Dragon Isles from all of Azeroth — even the dragonflights themselves. The Present Conflux shows the structure as it is when the Dragon Isles reawakened, and the Future Conflux shows a future where it lays in ruins thanks to the infinite dragonflight.
