Agamand Mills
The Agamand Mills is a vast windmill network in the highlands of northern Tirisfal Glades. Once owned by the wealthy Agamand family, the area was taken over by the undead and is now probably the largest Scourge outpost in Tirisfal.[1] It can be accessed from the west by a road leading up from Calston Estate, and from the east by a road from Garren's Haunt.
History
Ancient history
Arathorian settlers began establishing farmsteads in Tirisfal during Arathor's expansion circa 2,700 BDP.[2] Circa 1,200 BDP, immigrant noble families from Strom used their wealth to buy up large plots of land developed by earlier settlers in Tirisfal, including the Agamand Mills.[3]
Scourging of Lordaeron
When the Scourge first entered Tirisfal, Gregor Agamand decided that his family would stay and defend their home.[4] They fortified the Agamand Mills and convinced their employees to also remain and aid in the defense.[5] The Agamands were well fortified and well stocked, but their fate was sealed when their youngest son, Devlin, betrayed them by siding with the Scourge. Devlin murdered two of the Agamands' watchmen and led a small group of Scourge through the breach to where the rest of the men slept. The undead killed a third of the defenders before being taken down, leaving the Agamands with too few men to defend their borders against the continued Scourge assault.[4]
Before long, the entire family succumbed to the Plague of Undeath and became mindless Scourge undead.[5] The Scourge subsequently attempted to form a base at the Mills from which they could stage attacks on the Forsaken within Tirisfal.[6] Their local military leader, Captain Dargol, headquartered within the Agamand Family Crypt, the strongest point in the Mills, where he used necromancy to raise the Agamands' ancestors in order to use them against the Forsaken.[7] The Deathguards tasked adventurers with destroying the Scourge in the Mills[6] while Magistrate Sevren tasked them with defeating the forces at the Family Crypt.[7] Coleman Farthing, a former employee of the Agamands, asked adventurers to bring the remains of the family to him in Brill so he could get revenge on them for causing his death.[5]
During the Cataclysm, Coleman moved to a small camp at the Mills' eastern end to continue trying to take the land back from the Scourge.[1]

In the RPG
The Agamand family once controlled this vast windmill network. Now the mills are vacant, and the Agamand ghosts, unaligned with the Forsaken, haunt their former home. Many animate skeletons can be found here as well. This is a great spot to test your mettle against undead before venturing into the Plaguelands.[8]
Notes
- New Agamand, a Forsaken outpost in the Howling Fjord, is named after the area.
- The same style of dilapidated windmills can be seen in Ambermill.
