Waygate (location)

The Waygate is a portal between the southern part of Sholazar Basin[40, 82] and the Shaper's Terrace in Un'Goro Crater. It is of titan craft and arcane power,[1] and a piece of titan technology that is still active makes a pillar of light into a magical portal.[2] As the twin of a machine in Un'Goro Crater, this waygate hasn't been active in seven centuries,[3] but can be activated using the switches found in the Makers' Overlook and the Makers' Perch.[4] The gate then becomes active and will teleport anyone to Un'Goro in an instant.[2]
Following the war against the Jailer, the brothers Bronzebeard visited the waygate and learned how to use it.[2] According to Muradin Bronzebeard, the Oracles have a village not far from the Mosslight Pillar due to the presence of the Waygate.[5]
Trivia
- In the Journey to Un'Goro expansion for Hearthstone, the mage Quest "Open the Waygate" is themed around the Waygate. Completing the quest awards the Time Warp spell.
