The Oracles are a faction of several friendly gorloc tribes that inhabit Sholazar Basin.[1] They see themselves as guardians of the titan technology that remains in the area, though they don't really have an understanding of the artifacts they are guarding.[2] They find themselves in an escalating territorial war with the Frenzyheart Tribe of wolvar.
History
The gorloc tribes that inhabit Sholazar Basin, known collectively as the Oracles, have become more intelligent due to the effect of the titan structures in the basin. The Oracles are the sworn enemies of the Frenzyheart Tribe of wolvar that also inhabit Sholazar Basin. According to the gorlocs, they were there long before the wolvar came.[3] The Oracles have tried to be nice and make peace with the Frenzyheart but to no avail.[4]
During the war against the Lich King, the Mistwhisper tribe of gorlocs, part of the Oracles, came under attack by Zepik the Gorloc Hunter, a wolvar of the Frenzyheart Tribe, and adventurers that had been accompanying him. Zepik had adventurers smash the skyreach crystal clusters in front of the Mistwhisper "weather shrine," causing it to run amok and create a thunderstorm to rain destruction upon the gorlocs.[5] They also slew many Mistwhisper gorlocs while they were at it.[6]
Later, the Rainspeaker tribe came in contact with adventurers after they rescued an injured gorloc, causing the wolvar to turn on them, seeing the act as treason.[7] The grateful gorloc, on the other hand, offered to bring adventurers back to Rainspeaker Canopy, where they met with High-Oracle Soo-say, the leader of the Rainspeaker tribe and the Oracles.[8] To prove themselves, Soo-say tasked adventurers with slaying Venomtip and a group of Emperor Cobras nearby, which kept trying to eat their hatchlings.[3] Adventurers were accompanied by Lafoo, who requested their aid in collecting offerings for the Great Rain Stone.[9] Afterwards, the High-Oracle had the idea to send the adventurers to the Frenzyheart with an offering of peace, hoping the wolvar would listen to the adventurers due to their past friendly relations. However, the wolvar were not interested in peace and threw the adventurers out.[10]
When Mistwhisper Refuge was once again attacked by the Frenzyheart tribe, Soo-say sent Jaloot and adventurers to Mistcaller Soo-gan and asked them to do whatever Soo-gan asked of them.[11] Soo-gan directed them to slay the invading wolvar and the one leading them, Warlord Tartek who had stolen the Mistwhisper treasure from the Great Mist Stone. Adventurers were to retrieve the treasure and return back to the shrine.[12]
When adventurers returned to Soo-say after having helped the Mistwhisper tribe, the High-Oracle told them to go with Moodle and check on the Mosswalker tribe, from whom they hadn't heard in a while. Near Mosswalker Village, they met with Moodle, who, unlike other gorlocs, had been out into the world a bit and had learned the adventurers' language and was not easily duped. Moodle knew that the Mosswalkers were dead before they arrived, though they didn't know that it had been because of the Scourge. The Scourge aren't allowed to enter Sholazar Basin normally, but the destruction of the Lifeblood Pillar had changed that.[13] The five pillars scattered around Sholazar are the main reason for the weather in the region and seclusion from the undead. Not long ago, there was a great explosion, and the Lifeblood Pillar fell. The weather changed for the Mosswalkers almost immediately; it began to snow, something they had never seen. The Mosswalkers were able to stop the snow by bringing more lifeblood crystals to the Great Moss Stone for a while. Moodle hoped that by doing the same thing, it could help ward off the undead.[14] They also asked adventurers to rescue any Mosswalker survivors they could find.[15] Finally, adventurers were sent to deal with the leader of the undead there, Artruis the Heartless inside the Sundered Shard, while Moodle placed the shards gathered and brought news back to Soo-say.[16] After defeating the lich, adventurers could choose to rescue Jaloot or Zepik the Gorloc Hunter.[17] If Jaloot was chosen, they could go back to Rainspeaker Canopy and report what happened to the High-Oracle.[18]
Later, adventurers were sent by Oracle Soo-dow to help the Sparktouched tribe in Sparktouched Haven, who were locked in battle against the Frenzyheart of Kartak's Hold. There, on different occasions, adventurers were instructed to retrieve the crystal defenses and use them to kill the nearby Frenzyheart wolvar.[19] They had to obtain a tainted crystal from the wolvar, bring it to the Great Lightening Stone to call Soo-holu, and with the latter's shared powers, they killed the nearby wolvar.[20] Finally, they had to charge a dormant polished crystal at the exposed Lifeblood Pillar, then travel to Sparktouched Haven and use the power the crystal bestows to slaughter the wolvar.[21] On each occasion they reported their results to Lightningcaller Soo-met.
Meanwhile, Oracle Soo-nee enlisted adventurers to complete a few quests that were more musical in nature. They were to play the Cleansing Chime at Bittertide Lake, Wintergrasp River, and River's Heart and slay the evil spirits that plagued the waters there.[22] Go to the Stormwright's Shelf, northwest of the Maker's Perch, and play the Horn of Fecundity near piles of Soaked Fertile Dirt.[23] Use the Didgeridoo of Contemplation at the top of the Glimmering Pillar, the Suntouched Pillar, the Mosslight Pillar, and the Skyreach Pillar.[24] And use the Drums of the Tempest at the Stormwright's Shelf to help Haiphoon, the Great Tempest, devour Storm Revenants and Aqueous Spirits.[25]
Oracle Soo-rahm, found near the Bones of Nozronn, helped adventurers who sought to hunt the rhino patriarch Farunn. Soo-rahm made a special incense from cobra fangs collected by adventurers, which allowed them to speak with the spirit of Nozronn, an ancient rhino apparently worshipped by some of the gorlocs in Sholazar, including Soo-rahm, who kept a shrine in his honor.[26] Nozronn, who was displeased with Farunn, told adventurers where they could find him.[27]
Following the war against the Jailer, the brothers Bronzebeard visited Rainspeaker Canopy, where they were well received by the Oracles, just like the Frenzyheart tribe at their village, and this because of the diplomatic relations that Brann Bronzebeard maintains with them. They were utterly fascinated by Magni Bronzebeard and called him "thraegar", a strange word of titan's origin, and nodded solemnly when he said he spoke for Azeroth, which was expected because of their obsession with protecting titan technology.[2]
Culture
Though they are the sworn enemies of the wolvar, the oracles seem to have a nearly identical social system. Grunt work is done by the warriors, but their cultural leaders are nearly always great shamanic practitioners.[28] They worship the titan watchers and the artifacts that granted them intelligence, though they don't really have an understanding of what they are guarding.[29] These magical artifacts protect Sholazar Basin from both ill weather and foul creatures like the Scourge.[30] The Oracles call these artifacts the "Great Stones" and believe the titan watchers, or the "Great Ones," as they call them,[31] created the gorlocs.[4] The Oracles use crystals to power the shrines. If the wrong crystals are used, the shrines go haywire, creating chaotic weather effects.[5] The gorlocs will often go out looking for "shiny treasures," which they use as offerings to the Great Stones.[32] Some of the gorlocs in Sholazar Basin, such as Oracle Soo-rahm, also worship the ancient rhino spirit Nozronn.[27]
Oracle leaders have the word "Soo" in their name, which appears to be an honorary title. They call the wolvar "puppy-men" and are in turn referred to as "big-tongues" by the wolvar. People from other races, meanwhile, are usually referred to as "dryskins".
The Oracles are also fond of animal parts. Twisted claws from the goretalon rocs are among their favorites. The gorlocs have a saying that the more gnarled a roc's talon, the more power it holds.[33] Furthermore, the rare albino tickbird is revered amongst the Oracles. It is seen as a sign of heavy rainstorms, good grub harvests, and hibernating wolvar.[34]

- — Reputation tab description
Much like the Scryers and the Aldor, or the Bloodsail Buccaneers and the Steamwheedle Cartel, the Oracles and the Frenzyheart tribe are opposing factions, in which gaining reputation with one loses reputation with the other.
During the lead-in chain, your faction reputation will increase first with the Frenzyheart tribe and then with the Oracles. This has no bearing upon your ultimate choice of faction, so do not become confused. At the end of the chain, you will become honored with the faction you choose, and hated with the other. You must complete this chain to gain access to the factional daily quests.
The only way to gain further reputation is by completing the daily quests offered by High-Oracle Soo-say, Oracle Soo-dow, and Oracle Soo-nee at Rainspeaker Canopy. Three daily quests, awarding a total of 1700 reputation, are offered each day. The daily quests on offer may vary from day to day (refer to the table below).
For players who wish to earn the [Mercenary of Sholazar] achievement, it is advisable to gain exalted status with the Frenzyheart Tribe first. Then, after you switch sides and become exalted with the Oracles, you can continue to purchase and open Mysterious Eggs as long as you wish. Another advantage to long-term Oracles alignment is that you may continue to use
[Oracle Talisman of Ablution].
While questing, it is possible to speak to High-Oracle Soo-say and obtain a gorloc companion. There are three items available to summon companions: Lafoo, Jaloot, and Moodle. Each companion has its own unique personal abilities. When Jaloot is summoned, the player character gets a buff called "Jaloot's Intensity" which grants an extra 10% movement speed when unmounted and 100% extra swimming speed.

As hated
You will be unable to complete daily quests for the Oracles and will be attacked on sight because you are friendly or better with the Frenzyheart Tribe, who are the Oracles' sworn enemies.
From Honored to Exalted
Once you choose the Oracles and become friendly, the only way to raise your reputation is to complete the three daily quests offered in Rainspeaker Canopy.
The quest [20-30 Daily] Appeasing the Great Rain Stone is the same from day to day, but only two additional dailies are offered for any given day. One of these two is random from the three quests that require you to slay Frenzyheart Attackers, and the other quest is random from the remaining four dailies that have "song" in the titles.
Rewards
The most coveted item from the Oracles is the [Mysterious Egg] which can hatch into four different non-combat pets and also a VERY rare Green Proto-Drake mount. If you're not a pet collector, this reputation is also part of two achievements: The Oracles for getting exalted with the Oracles and
[Mercenary of Sholazar] for getting exalted with both the Oracles and the Frenzyheart tribe.
The non-combat pets in the Mysterious Egg are [Cobra Hatchling],
[Proto-Drake Whelp],
[Tickbird Hatchling], or
[White Tickbird Hatchling]. The Egg also yields
[Aged Yolk].

Switching Factions
To switch factions from the Frenzyheart tribe to the Oracles you must defeat Artruis the Heartless, a level-77 elite that is soloable by many classes. During the fight with Artruis, you are attacked by both an Oracle (Jaloot) and a Frenzyheart (Zepik). You must leave Jaloot the Oracle alive and kill Zepik the Frenzyheart, then finish defeating Artrius in order for the Oracle [20-30 Daily] Hand of the Oracles quest giver to appear. Completing this quest automatically boosts your rep to honored, but REDUCES your Frenzyheart-tribe rep to hated, so make sure you finish up anything you wish to do with the Frenzyheart before completing this task.
Note that players outside of the party, or uncooperative party members, may kill the NPC you intend to save, so be aware of which quest you are accepting. However, there is no real danger of accidentally switching faction as the change does not occur until completing the daily quest offered by the NPC who survived. If the desired quest giver is killed, simply wait for Artruis to respawn and repeat the encounter.
