Farshire is a small town located outside of Valiance Keep in the Borean Tundra. At the start of the Valiance Expedition, the farmers of Farshire cut their fields into the rich, black soil of the tundra and their mine into the nearby hills. They supplied the keep with food and much-needed ore. Since the undead attacks, the only intact buildings are the town hall and lighthouse.

During the war against the Lich King, the town was consumed by the Scourge when infiltrators from the Cult of the Damned dropped their plague on the town and burned the place as the remaining townsfolk fought back. In the mine, Captain Jacobs and his Scourged Footmen controlled access to the last load of ore; while in the farmlands, ghouls fought against the Farshire Militia. Later, Alliance adventurers were sent to discover how the cultists infected the town, and to provide aid to the militia in keeping the Scourge at bay.

Years later, after the war against the Jailer, the Bronzebeard brothers reported that the farmers left are resourceful, stubborn folk, still trying to fight back the Scourge to regain their home. Muradin Bronzebeard also mentioned that he heard the farmers even figured out how to repurpose their mechanical harvest collectors to attack invading ghouls.[1]
