The crypt.

The Crypt is located in the Sanctum of Stromgarde Keep, in the Arathi Highlands, deep in the militia-controlled districts of the city and beyond its chapel. This crypt holds the tomb of Thoras Trollbane, and was the location of the sword Trol'kalar.[1][2] The tomb was once personally guarded by Prince Galen Trollbane, alongside the caretakers Alaric, Nevlin, and Weston.

During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, the crypt was opened by the Knights of the Ebon Blade with Trol'kalar who raised King Thoras Trollbane as a member of the Four Horsemen.[3] When the death knights left, Trol'kalar was stolen.[4] Not long after Thoras's rebirth, Mathias Shaw visited the crypt and found the tomb empty.[5]

The crypt is nowhere to be found in Stromgarde Keep in the Battle for Azeroth's updated Arathi Highlands, however, lorewise, it is still present. Following the Fourth War, Mathias Shaw and Flynn Fairwind surveyed it with Danath Trollbane's blessing during their journey across the Eastern Kingdoms.[4]

Stromgarde's ruins include the Trollbane Family Crypt, which safeguards several artifacts. Prince Galen Trollbane protects the crypt along with the rest of his city. A group called the Caretakers, also based in the city, is dedicated to the protection and preservation of several specific human artifacts in the crypt. Among these is the Trollbane family sword, called Trol'Kalar.[6]
