The Forbidding Sea in Chronicle.

The Forbidding Sea is a largely unexplored and uncharted sea along the eastern coast of the Eastern Kingdoms, sometimes noted by travelers on the coasts of the Hinterlands, Arathi Highlands and Swamp of Sorrows. With The Burning Crusade expansion, the Eversong Woods were also included. With the release of Wrath of the Lich King, there is now a coastline in the far east of the Eastern Plaguelands near the starting area of the death knights.

There is nothing beyond the Forbidding Sea's reaches.[1]

Connection with the Veiled Sea

This article or section includes speculation, observations or opinions possibly supported by lore or by Blizzard officials. It should not be taken as representing official lore.

On rare occasions when Azeroth's backside can be seen, such as on the globes in the Halls of Lightning, it is shown that the Forbidding Sea connects with the Veiled Sea which stretches across the western shore of Kalimdor. There is little (if any) mention of this 'backside sea' in the lore as the Warcraft game development has traditionally concerned Azeroth's front side (the continents surrounding the Great Sea). In theory, the backside sea could be the location of yet undiscovered continents.
