Crane Wing Refuge is a camp of refugees found near the Krasarang River, in the Deepwild of north-central Krasarang Wilds.
Background
Due to the chaos of the Alliance-Horde war in Pandaria, the Sha of Despair escaped from its bindings in the Temple of the Red Crane, killing its jailors, driving many residents of the temple to despair, and capturing Chi-Ji himself.[1] The members of the Crane Wing order who escaped established the Crane Wing Refuge north across the river, where they gathered their strength and did their best to keep hope alive.[2]
During the evacuation towards the refuge, groups of refugees were ambushed by the Riverblade saurok, until Koro Mistwalker and the adventurers repelled them.[3][4] Several refugees were also bitten by Murkscale Strikers in their escape and began to show the symptoms of the Murksweats. The monks administered them anti-venom as quickly as possible.[5]
From the refuge, Koro coordinated the reclaiming of the temple, which ended up with the defeat of the Sha of Despair and the liberation of the Red Crane.[6]
