US realm list by datacenter

You updated the tables on this page on 23 December. Looks much better than it did before. I've updated the realms that have changed datacenters due to Connected Realms. It should now be up to date thru today's batch of connected realms. Can you check it to see if I did it all right? My first real edits. Frankz2 (talk) 00:15, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Looks good to me. Do you know if Blizz has an updated battlegroup listing anywhere? I haven't been able to find it. --k_d3 00:55, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
No, they don't. I did it manually; pull up an armory page for any character from the realm in question, then mouse over the realm name just under the character name. I also checked timezones the hard way, since I didn't know any other way; create lvl 1 character, log into game and mouse over the clock to see local time vs server time, log out and delete char, rinse and repeat for next realm. Check IP doesn't require a full log into game, tho, just being on an empty character selection screen for a realm is sufficient. --Frankz2 (talk) 01:25, 7 February 2014 (UTC)
I've updated all the battlegroups on that page.--Frankz2 (talk) 01:16, 2 March 2014 (UTC)

Can you make a new page for the Australian realms, since they just moved out of the US datacenters and are actually in Australia now? No idea how to do all that, but I can look up and edit in their new IP's, later. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Frankz2 (talk · contr).

To be honest, I'd rather rename the article from US realm list by datacenter to Americas region realm list by datacenter, as that more accurately reflects the content and we wouldn't have to split it, as even though the Aussies have servers on the continent, they're still in the "Americas" region, as they always have been. --k_d3 17:34, 29 October 2014 (UTC)

HearthPwn

I tried to add Curse's "HearthPwn.com" website to the external links section of the Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft article. It seems that regular users do not have permission to use external links though. It said to contact an administrator if I had questions, so I figured I would ask you. (You had a post in the talk page.) I thought this would be a good link to refer readers to, because it is a Curse site as this one is, and also because it has lots of information over Hearthstone. Xt0rt3r (talk) 00:40, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Added. Thanks for letting me know. --k_d3 00:54, 7 February 2014 (UTC)

Collapsable

I have recently noticed that my collapsable deviders are no longer functioning. Example:

Any help would be appreciated as to what flaws I am doing, or if the pedia's technology has changed. Gourra told me that either you or Foxlit would be the one to talk to. Sraw531 (talk) 05:47, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

The old navframe javascript has been removed, in favor of jQuery's show-hide javascript. Take a look at {{Instance bosses}} as an example of how it works. Apologies for the inconvenience. --k_d3 05:57, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
To use the new javascript, convert it as follows:
{|class="mw-collapsible mw-collapsed darktable"
! Header text goes here
|-
|
Any content goes here
|-
|You can add as many rows as you want
|}

That produces:

Header text goes here

Any content goes here

You can add as many rows as you want

Would you be willing to take a look at User:Sraw531/Sandbox2 orange (or other composite gem color) and show me things (you may do on that page) that will make it look neater (more professional)? Sraw531 (talk) 06:41, 16 February 2014 (UTC)

Get an email from me on Jun 16?

It's legit. Respond if you want in. --k_d3 19:50, 16 June 2014 (UTC)

Table help

Hey thanks for taking a look at Heart of the Valorous/Schedule! I was kind of diving headfirst into table fanciness for the first time haha. I was wondering if I might have missed some nice calendar-ish template that allowed highlighting days, but didn't see anything like that in searches. I guess it's not all that common a need.

My next task was going to be to see if there was a way to paramaterize the styles so it wasn't quite such a mess, perhaps by defining some custom CSS classes, if that's possible? I see mediawiki has a CSS extension that allows page-specific CSS, do we use that?

I know you've got lots to do other than tutoring newbs on MW coding, so thanks for any quick thoughts :) - jerodast (talk) 02:31, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Getting a new extension installed is a bit iffy, but what we do already have is the variables extension. I haven't played with it much, but you could do things like {{#vardefine:valor|background-color:#440044;color:#E0E0E0}} and then go style="{{#var:valor}}" instead. That gets you this: Valor style
You can echo that variable as many times as you need and create variables for the other styles as necessary. Remember that we have two skins (desktop and mobile), so whenever you define a background color, you must define a foreground color or you're likely to get a white-on-white situation. --k_d3 16:38, 24 August 2014 (UTC)
That's exactly what I was hoping for, just didn't know what to look for, thanks! And yeah I saw your foreground color corrections, thanks for that. I'm kind of a desktop snob so I always fail to consider mobile :) - jerodast (talk) 17:13, 24 August 2014 (UTC)

Achievementtip

I've edited the {{Achievementtip}} template to fixed the points showing for the guild feats of strength. I'm letting you know if you may need to make it better than the way I've done it. :P — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 03:07, 3 September 2014 (UTC)

VideoLink

I really like how videos can start at anytime given, but how would you want to end the video at your convenience? -- (talk) 8:48, 19 September 2014

It'd have to be added to the extension. As of now I'm not sure it's possible. --k_d3 01:51, 20 September 2014 (UTC)
I found the news of it recently, click on this: Start and End code -- (talk) 9:00, 19 September 2014

Heirloom articles

No complaints or critiques here, just wanted to pop in and thank you for the work you've put in to updating the articles and templates for 6.1. It looks nice and has helped me with my own project (not related to Wowpedia). :) Aliok (talk) 02:46, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Need your delete bot services

Good lord, someone just tossed 233 old image redirects into Category:Miscellany for speedy deletion explained. Could we get your bot to delete them all. :) Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 05:12, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Done. --k_d3 05:22, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Thank you. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 05:23, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
It was me who did about all of those and I apologize for mass polluting the category but I'm doing this to clean up the Adventure Guide really. I have pushed 200 more that are now pending for deletion which should be the rest from what I can see on the Special:AllPages. Could you use your bot delete the rest that I've pushed to that category recently? If so, much appreciated! I promise this should be the rest! No worries, I'm happy to have great editors like yourself. Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 20:25, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
Yup. I'm just happy that it's getting done. It takes roughly 3 keypresses to have the bot delete all those pages, so don't think it's any effort on my part. I'm at work right now, so I'll get to the deletions when I get home. --k_d3 20:48, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

Looks like there's another couple hundred images to be bot-deleted. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 21:53, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

Bot Flag Request

Hello!

I would like to request Bot status for my bot, DarkpsyBot. As stated on its user page, it will assist in correcting typos, misspellings, general wikifying activites, and grammatical errors. The bot will run at least every other day to help in the clean up of the Wiki.

Thank you! Have a great day! -Darkpsy3934 (talk) 00:47, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

I am using AutoWikiBrowser to make the changes. I may move to something more automated later on, but for now I'm just quickly going through pages and correcting things I come across! Thanks! -Darkpsy3934 (talk) 00:50, 23 February 2016 (UTC)

Bot

Thank you, I was going to bother you another day about that. :) Snake.gifSssssssssssssssssssssssss Coobra sig3.gifFor Pony! (Sssss/Slithered) 03:57, 24 February 2016 (UTC)

Factional Icons

The Battle for Shattrath

Would you have any idea why the faction disambig tag is not working properly for B [20-40] The Battle for Shattrath? Instead of displaying the faction nav tabs, it's displaying both faction quests as one long wall of information. (Or at least it's trying to do both. The table of contents shows all the section headers, but all one can scroll through is the Alliance.) -- Alayea (talk / contrib) 21:51, 29 October 2016 (UTC)

Typo account

I have noticed now, that at times when logging on, I've forgotten the capitalization of the "w" in my name. As such I have both User:Peterwind and User:PeterWind. Would it be possible to just have the two merged, or have my edits on Peterwind moved to PeterWind, and then having Peterwind deleted, to avoid confusion? PeterWind (talk) 07:34, 10 January 2017 (UTC)

Since we merged Wowpedia accounts with the greater Curse account system, account merges/renames/etc aren't something we can control at the wiki level. Sorry! Please send an email to [email protected] and they should be able to help you out. --k_d3
Thanks for the info, I'll do that! PeterWind (talk) 09:13, 11 January 2017 (UTC)

"A branch of WoWWiki"

Hey, when you google Wowpedia this is what shows up. http://i.imgur.com/jeDWV76.png I know wowpedia was forked from wowwiki, split, but now they have absolutely nothing to do with each other so I'm not sure how relevant it is to mention this in the very first description of the site that users encounter! Plus it is technically misleading and incorrect cause it is literally saying that wowpedia is a branch of wowwiki which is not the case. Same for the described purpose of the site, it says it's only about "classes, professions, quests, addons and macros" when it's about so much more than gameplay stuff. -- MyMindWontQuiet (talk) 19:25, 23 April 2017 (UTC)

Brawler's Guild quotes

Hey, from among the quotes you removed from the Brawler's Guild page, some of them are not present on their respective tactics page. Could you double-check and update them if you got the time sometimes? Xporc (talk) 11:53, 24 February 2018 (UTC)

Yah, that's on my list. --k_d3 22:15, 25 February 2018 (UTC)
That's ok, I just finished putting the quotes on the relevant pages :p Also did some cleaning up. Xporc (talk) 22:24, 25 February 2018 (UTC)

War of the Thorns

Are you sure all of the event's world quests are opened once the questline is finished and not in the middle? Some of them are started by Summermoon. She dies at the end of the questline. --Mordecay (talk) 14:33, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Yep. No WQs showed up until after Teldrassil burned for me. --k_d3 17:50, 6 July 2018 (UTC)

Question

Hey, checking your templates as I'm doing a few questlines and I just noticed that the {{Kennings Lodge}} template has "Optional side quests:" numbered while {{Southwind Station}} has "Side quests:" and not numbered. Any tips for this? When to use which variant or what to look at while doing quests in the game? --Mordecay (talk) 11:14, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

Kennings was incorrect there; it should've looked like Southwind. Just a typo due to the speed in which I'm trying to get this all on the wiki. Optional stuff or breadcrumbs should not be numbered. --k_d3 19:16, 16 August 2018 (UTC)

Merging the 'reconstructing fear and flesh' articles

From the page history, I can see you are one of the authors involved in the four iterations of N [50] Reconstructing "Fear and Flesh".

Rather than having four separate pages, I've created a substitute that merges the content into one page at a Project:Sandbox/8. Do you think something like this could work for cases like this where the quests are similarly named? DDC (talk) 01:35, 16 February 2020 (UTC)

Herald Dalora

I quoted this from the Shadowlands#Inhabitants section but it's not showing the complete edit in the edit summary. Anyways the quoted lines are: "If a being of Death is killed on the mortal plane, their essence returns to the Shadowlands to be reformed." and "However, if such a being—either the soul of a former mortal or a native being of the Shadowlands—is destroyed in the Shadowlands, they die permanently and their soul is lost forever." I just wanted to make sure that you could see both and not think I was arguing on the merits of the first line, because in all honestly I saw where you come from and did agree on the merit of it before taking a second look, and seeing the line "either the soul of a former mortal or a native being of the Shadowlands."--X59 (talk) 02:57, 20 November 2020 (UTC)

Grammatical error on Afrasiabi's page

Could you fix the line that mentions the lawsuit? I think you meant to type "later named". -- Alayea (talk) 04:54, 27 July 2021 (UTC)

Actually, I meant to remove "later" but instead removed "named." Whoops. Fixed, now. Thanks for the catch. -- Dark T Zeratul (talk) 05:09, 27 July 2021 (UTC)
