Icon source

Hey, please add in the filenames in their lowercase forms. This allow for ease of copy-paste. Thanks — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 02:12, 15 April 2024 (UTC)

I did update the "contributing to the wiki" section over at Project:WoW Icons sometime ago. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 02:15, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
I believe in copying the names as they are labeled in the official database, which has made it useful for when new categories are needed on occasion. I'll go along with it because I don't want to make a scene, but could you give an example as to why it's better with all-lowercase? Isn't that what copying from Wowhead, Wago, and even the file header are for if needed? --Alayea (talk) 18:52, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
Most filenames since BfA are no longer official and are instead community generated. Why should ours remain capitalize and have to rely on other sites to copy and paste it easily? We already lowercase the actual filename when we upload them so best we can reflect this in the icon source area as well. Having to lowercase the categories would just be more work that is entirely unneeded/wouldn't be much benefit to do that. In some cases, Wowhead does not know what the icon is or uses the entirely wrong icon. At least for Wago, they will be caught up with the current icons before we have them but it is fine to have multiple locations to have a copy-paste icon name. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 21:18, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
Thank you for explaining. --Alayea (talk) 23:45, 17 April 2024 (UTC)
