Background
The Depths of Nightmare is an 8-boss raid instance (With a heroic-only ninth). This instance is located deep beneath the surface and goes deeper than Deepholm. It consists of many vicious creatures namely the Faceless but there is a hint of other species lurking about. Those traveling alone never return from their journey and only add to the countless amount of fallen heroes and adventurers before them. It is whispered among the spirits that the faceless prophet has made many prophecies throughout the history of Azeroth dating back to the Pantheon's arrival upon the world.
Bosses
The bosses of the Depths consists of:
- Prophet Sin'gurath - A very enigmatic faceless one whose very prophecies concerning Azeroth came true. He intends on remaking the world above in a way one would never be able to recognize it. His actions are dark, but his thoughts are darker.
- Ambassador Mu'lath - An enormous faceless creature who rules the Court of Sorrow with indomitable force. He is accompanied by two other "representatives" where they discuss the ultimate decision that may spell Azeroth's doom.
- Ektu'nuras - A mischievous Crypt Lord who is strangely working with the Faceless ones. His shell is so massive that next to no attack can penetrate its carapace. Should enemies of this Crypt Lord find a weak point in this creature, the tables could turn either way.
- Ynir'ulyad - It is impossible to determine which flight this creature came from due to the fact that its body and head is completely twisted beyond recognition. One may wonder if this faceless-dragon hybrid ever came from a dragonflight or if it was created by the horrific N'Zoth itself.
- Zereveus the Mutant - A fallen Twilight dragon who, in the Prophet's eyes, still has potential, even in death. This risen dragon has been mutated and powered by N'Zoth himself. Now he serves a single purpose: see to the absolute annihilation of all mortal intruders. Those willing to take on the old god must get past this torrential behemoth.
- Psychronis Mindwarp - A highly telepathic being whose power is unmatched by any other faceless creature. He welcomes any intruders into his domain, challenging them to a violent mind game where winner takes all.
- Al'nir the Doomspeaker - One of the generic faceless ones, Al'nir has successfully surpassed other faceless ones in both skill and power. Now, he is all that stands between mortal intruders and his nightmarish master N'zoth.
- N'zoth and Major Genaaz - The horrific Old god N'Zoth and his faithful servant Genaaz are the terrifying duo no being dares to face alone. Major Genaaz protects his master with every inch of his being and power. When the time comes to make a last stand, Genaaz will show no mercy and expects none back. Should Genaaz fail his duty, he will use the last of his power to awaken his master from his slumber, who in turn will unleash a nightmare one dares not to dream about.
Heroic Difficulty
- Qor'magg - An insanely powerful void lord, Qor'magg has sought out shelter within the deepest, darkest places of the Depths. It is said that he has manifested from the pure Shadow energy that sifts through the cavernous depths. Those willing to take on this creature must come prepared lest they find themselves among the spirits who cry for a end to their misery.
