Crest

Replace the current image with File:Alliance Crest.png. This one seems to be correct in terms of which way it should be flipped; going base on Samwise's art. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 14:18, 10 July 2018 (UTC)

Allied race update

Add the Kul Tiran humans to the Allied races parameter. -- MyMindWontQuiet 21:35, 26 August 2018 (UTC)

Jaina Proudmoore leadership

At the end of the questlines in Kul Tiras, Jaina Proudmoore becomes its new leader and also at the end of the questline, Kul Tiras joins the Alliance, so why isn't Jaina Proudmoore listed as one of the Alliance leaders in the Infobox on the Alliance page? Shouldn't this be changed to this to reflect the current political status of Jaina and Kul Tiras? —Murthor Deepforge (talk) 02:31, 28 August 2018 (UTC)

Kul Tirans

Kul Tiran humans are not part of the main races for the Alliance. They'll soon be an "Allied race". Right now they should be listed as HumanHuman Kul Tiran humans under the section "Other races" until the race is playable like the

  1. Zandalari trolls are already like this and we don't have them side by side with the trolls
  2. the Mag'har orcs are not side-by-side with the green orcs
  3. the Highmountain tauren are not side-by-side with the tauren
  4. the Lightforged draenei are not side-by-side with the draenei
  5. and the dark iron dwarves are not side-by-side with the dwarves

Darnassus

Shouldn't Darnassus now be removed from the current "Capital cities" parameter since its destruction? --Qintus (talk) 00:20, 6 September 2018 (UTC)

Technically it still is, it is just crossed out to signify the recent BfA events. The same thing is applied to Undercity on {{Infobox Horde}}. — SurafbrovWarcraft Wiki administrator T / C 21:35, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Highborne

Take out the Highborne from the race parameter and add it into the Notable factions parameter. --Mordecay (talk) 20:53, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

Allied cities update

Please add Shadowforge City to the Allied cities parameter. Thanks  Horde IconSmall Gorfax.gifSargerasDoomhammer Talk Contributions 14:14, 25 June 2019 (UTC)

Erazmin's title

Please, remove the Prince title from Erazmin. Thanks  Horde IconSmall Gorfax.gifSargerasDoomhammer Talk Contributions 17:25, 10 October 2019 (UTC)

Another thing, the leader of the mechagnomes is Gelbin as per a conversation between him and Erazmin after saving Gelbin's life. Still, it might be better to wait and see where this leads. Here the conversation. --Ryon21 (talk) 18:44, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
I agree with Ryon21, Gelbin Mekkatorque is the King of All Gnomes (gnomes and mechagnomes). Please, remove Erazmin. Thanks  Horde IconSmall Gorfax.gifSargerasDoomhammer Talk Contributions 02:09, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

Order

If anyone still wants to put the night elves above the gnomes on all subject, I no longer object to it. --ShadowShade81413 (talk) 21:06, 11 January 2020 (UTC)

Notable factions

Please add the Proudmoore Admiralty, the Army of the Light and the Rustbolt Resistance to the notable factions list.  Horde IconSmall Gorfax.gifSargerasDoomhammer Talk Contributions 15:40, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Maybe instead of the Porudmoore Admiralty add Kul Tiras (kingdom) since all Kul Tiras lore is there and the admiralty page has none. --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 15:46, 3 April 2020 (UTC)

Races in infobox

Can someone change the "main races" to "core races" and I would suggest with Shadowlands adding Wildhammer customization having the "dwarf" be the name of the core race but shown with double icons same as night elves have Highborne icons, also can the Highborne icons be after the regular Night elf icons. Also ankoan should be among the other races as the Ankoan Tidehunters are troops in War Campaign missions that indicate they participate on the side of the Alliance even outside Nazjatar. Mrforesttroll (talk) 13:37, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

For what I understand, in an interview they stated these customizations were just visual, and did not affect the lore, meaning that even though your character might look like a Wildhammer dwarf of a Forest troll, your character is still treated as a dwarf from Ironforge and a troll from the Darkspear. --Ryon21 (talk) 13:57, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
From a questing point of view yes, but I'm not sure they intended to mean it literally about the lore Xporc (talk) 14:02, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
What interview? And the Wildhammer dwarf is treated as a type of dwarf on the wiki rather then as a race as their lore on being a separate race of just a faction is not that clear, unlike the sand trolls that are established as a subspecies whose status in the Horde infobox should also be determined. I would present both with the simple names "dwarf" and "troll" as in-game in these infoboxes with the subrace(or subcuture) being represented with dual icons. Also should dryad and keeper of the grove be in the infobox as other races, examples: Forest Sisters and Shadowglen Keepers. Mrforesttroll (talk) 14:21, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
It was this one I think. For what it says, the player character can roleplay whoever they want, but it shouldn't be treated as "all these races and factions are now with the Horde/Alliance for sure". Like DT said in Discord, unless we see NPCs, we shouldn't confirm things. But since the Wildhammers are already part of the Alliance, I don't know if we should add them in the "core races", since it only is a customization. About the other races, I agree the Children of Cenarius and the Ankoan should be added there. Also the same with the Gigoblins in the Horde infobox. --Ryon21 (talk) 14:59, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
https://www.twitch.tv/videos/619631234?t=1h19m19s - The answer in the interview says they won't give a unique starting experience to the wildhammer dwarf, talking about the old racial starting zone when saying character can roleplay whoever they want, I don't hear where the part is you put in quotations. The fact that there are player characters that are sand trolls based on the skin customization option means they are in the Horde, even if there ends up being not even a single non-player character Horde faction sand troll. I don't know who DT in Discord is so? I would treat these subraces/subcultures in these infoboxes with dual icons as stated above, like the Highborne are shown currently with their separate icons with the night elf core race. Mrforesttroll (talk) 15:53, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Also as pertains to this infobox we show Kul Tiran as a allied race as it is not as a lore race which would just be human together with the regular human. Mrforesttroll (talk) 15:59, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
Maybe I expressed myself wrong. What I meant is that these customizations are just for roleplaying. They don't have any impact on the current story, just in the player's mind. At least for the time being. The reason why there are highborne next to the night elves is basically because that's the reason why they can be mages in Cata. All this is quite complicated. Also, the infobox is a mix of gameplay and lore, which can be confusing. Maybe it is time we merged the races section, and leave out the gameplay stuff. I don't know. Tbh, I have no idea how to deal with all this. Also, we don't know how many customization options there will be. Maybe it is best to wait until the beta, or the release. --Ryon21 (talk) 16:24, 20 May 2020 (UTC)
OK I agree we wait for Shadowlands to release information and continue this do customizations fit into lore discussion then. Just someone change the "main race" into "core race", move the regular night elf icons before the lore only Highborne icons and add other races: ankoan, dryad and keeper of the grove to this infobox and the gilgoblins and humans to the Horde infobox. Mrforesttroll (talk) 16:48, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Yeah nah, let's refrain from adding every single races/factions to such templates, we've already been moving down enough data lately Xporc (talk) 22:40, 20 May 2020 (UTC)

Dracthyr

Can someone add the dracthyr information

Leaders icon

Heya, I'm making a quick request to update the Tyrande icon to its latest version IconSmall TyrandeNight.gif, but also for Azurathel IconSmall Azurathel.gifIconSmall Azurathel2.gif. Thanks in advance! Wards (talk) 17:04, 14 November 2023 (UTC)

EDIT 10.2.5 --> With the lore changes it would be necessary to change Genn by IconSmall Tess.gif Tess Greymane, Tyrande and Malfurion by IconSmall Shandris.gif Shandris Feathermoon, and still update Azurathel with his new icons IconSmall Azurathel.gifIconSmall Azurathel2.gif. At the same time, we need to update the Alliance capitals for Gilneas City and Bel'ameth. Thanks in advance! ClassIcon paladin.png Wards (talk) 23:40, 16 January 2024 (UTC)

Leaders

Genn

Genn says that he will offer expertise to the Alliance. Unless there is another quote, we don't need to speculate if that means "he will remain a leader", and it feels like he doesn't need to be in this template, if it is supposed to list only main faction leaders.

A [70] What We Left Behind - "My role in the world is far from over. The Alliance still needs my expertise--and with Gilneas in good hands, I find myself free to fully take on that challenge."

--HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 11:07, 20 January 2024 (UTC)

I believe we should remove Genn Greymane for the following reasons:
  • From his dialogue, we can infer that he will take on an advisory role rather than a leadership one.
  • This matter has already been resolved in this forum, where it was determined that only the current leaders of playable races would be included in the template.
Horde IconSmall Gorfax.gifSargerasDoomhammer Talk Contributions 16:43, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
This was also part of my discussion with Berenal, and I support removing Genn (even though he is my main character ;-;) since he is no longer the racial leader of the Worgen, and therefore no longer has his place in this listing. If we leave it like this, then we would have to review how we choose who stays or not in this list, and that would be another debate. A long one. High king -> Lord Commander

I would like to propose that we replace Anduin and his title of High King with Turalyon and his title of Lord Commander, or, alternatively, add a new section with this information. Turalyon has been the leader of the Alliance for 2 expansions (5 years in the lore).  Horde IconSmall Gorfax.gifSargerasDoomhammer Talk Contributions 16:55, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

I am more tempted by the second option, placing Turalyon in a new section of the infobox, as well as adding "(absent)" next to Anduin, in order to mark the fact that Space paladin is in charge but also that for later, when Anduin returns, Turalyon will still be the Lord Commander of the Alliance forces. ClassIcon paladin.png Wards (talk) 17:31, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
I don't have strong opinions on this one, but I guess Wards idea is good, at least until the next expac. We know Anduin is already back, though no idea how much of a leader he is now since he is doing his thing and has seemingly left everyone on their own. But yeah, keep Anduin as High King (absent) and add a Lord Commander below, maybe? --Ryon21 (talk) 19:05, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Agreed with the second option / Wards idea. --HordeRace bloodelf male.jpg Mordecay (talk) 19:27, 24 January 2024 (UTC)

Racial leaders

I discussed this with Berenal on Discord, but it is true that among the racial leaders, we did not put Captain Fareeya and Magister Umbric as racial leaders in the list! I will add them since it corresponds to the measures that were taken in the past regarding the restrictions of leaders in the list. ClassIcon paladin.png Wards (talk) 17:31, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
