Suffering is an ability of the Voidwalker, a warlock minion. It acts as a taunt, forcing the target to attack the Voidwalker for 5 seconds, and significantly increases its threat generated during the effect.
Patch changes
Patch 12.0.0 (2025-01-20): Updated to increase threat generation by 800% (was 400%). 
Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now learned at level 12 (was 15). 
Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Now learned at level 15 (was granted by 
[Command Demon]. 
Patch 7.0.3 (2016-07-19): Now granted by Command Demon (was learned at level 16). 
Patch 5.4.0 (2013-09-10): Now increases threat generated while Taunt is active. - Patch 5.0.4 (2012-08-28): Now has a 30 yard range, up from melee range.
Patch 4.3.0 (2011-11-29): The Voidwalker ability Suffering now works like the hunter pet talent 
[Taunt]. - Patch 4.0.6a (2011-02-11): All raid bosses are now properly immune to Suffering.
- Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Now a single target effect. Cooldown reduced from 2 minutes to 10 seconds. Now learned at level 16 (was 24).
Patch 3.3.0 (2009-12-08): Ranks 5-8 had the incorrect taunt radius of 5 yards and have all been adjusted to a 10-yard radius. 
Patch 1.10.0 (2006-03-28): Radius increased, tooltip updated. - Patch 1.1.0 (2004-11-07): Voidwalkers will wait for enemies in the area before casting Suffering.
