Soothing Kiss is a Succubus ability which decreases aggro directed towards her from the spell's target. It is instant-cast, with a 4-second cooldown.

Rank 5 of this ability also reduces the target's melee attack speed by 10% for 10 sec.

Talent improvement

[Improved Succubus] increases aggro reduced by 10 / 20 / 30%. (Removed in 3.0.2)

Notes

Similar to the Priest's [Fade], or a Rogue's [Feint], Soothing Kiss is very useful in groups where the Succubus can sometimes out-aggro the tanks. The threat level reduction increases with rank. Rank 1 has a 5-yard range, but every higher rank has a 10-yard range.

This spell is very mana-intensive; don't be surprised if you see your Succubus run out of mana frequently while using Soothing Kiss.

Soothing Kiss can be set on auto-cast. The AI will cast Soothing Kiss when the Succubus gets aggro (or if a player hits her). It is not recommended if you wish to have the Succubus tank.

This spell is also of limited utility in solo-PvE; using this spell will cause the mob to attack the next target on the aggro list, and while soloing this target will undoubtedly be you. It is thus not recommended in situations when the player does not want to take damage.

• Patch 4.0.1 (2010-10-12): Removed.
  
• Patch 0.12 (2004-10-11): Now usable against targets that are immune to shadow attacks.
  
• Patch 0.7 (2004-06-15): Mana cost increased. Potency reduced.
