Empire

An empire is a political entity which either governs over vast lands and territories compared to its neighbors, or has subjugated multiple nations and races under its rule. Most empires tend to have their foundations laid out during bloody wars of conquest, which are all predominantly carried out in the name of a powerful king, ancient, god, or other venerated being or entity. Many empires also see fit to take their conquered foes as slaves or menial servants, though there are rare examples of some empires instead choosing to extend the rights of their citizens to the conquered, in exchange for pledges of loyalty.^{[citation needed]}
