Background

Dornaa's parents were killed in a war, and she has lived in the Shattrath orphanage her whole life.[1] She has an older brother, Jheel, who left the orphanage to apprentice for the Consortium.[2] According to the naaru O'ros, Dornaa is "very special" and destined to become an important figure among the draenei.[3] She has communicated with Farseer Nobundo in her dreams and has an unheard-of ability to wield the elements without any training; Nobundo believes that she must have inherited this shamanic power from an ancient ancestor.[4]

During Children's Week, Alliance adventurers can agree to look after Dornaa, who has prepared a list of places she wants to visit.[1] She asks them to take her to visit Jheel at Aeris Landing,[2] the Ring of Observance in the ruins of Auchindoun (where she tries using a Meeting Stone to summon another adventurer),[5] and the Stair of Destiny in Hellfire Peninsula, which she has heard stories of from the orphan matrons. Impressed by the sight of the Dark Portal, she then insists on visiting the other side of the portal as well.[6]

In the Exodar, O'ros gives its blessing to Dornaa and the adventurer and tells the latter of the child's future potential, caused "in no small part" by the kindness the adventurer has shown her.[3] O'ros then recommends the adventurer to bring Dornaa to Farseer Nobundo in the Crystal Hall. She recognizes the farseer from her dreams, and he asks if she can summon the elements as she'd shown him in those dreams. She successfully does so, much to Nobundo's amazement. He tells the adventurer that he'll send a letter to Orphan Matron Mercy requesting that Dornaa be allowed to move to the Exodar for training, and asks the hero to keep her safe until then.[4] Dornaa also asks the adventurer to take her to the Caverns of Time to see a bronze dragon. On arrival, the bronzes react strangely: two Wardens of Time move to attack her, but Zaladormu intervenes and says that the girl "will not be held accountable for what she might do, or fail to do, in the future". Before they leave, the adventurer buys Dornaa a toy dragon souvenir, and she says that she hopes to one day have a real dragon as a friend.[7]

The adventurer then brings Dornaa back to the orphanage, and she gives them one of her favorite pets to remember her by.[8] Some time thereafter, she sends the adventurer a letter to tell them that Nobundo has asked Orphan Matron Mercy to allow her to study with him at the Exodar.[9]

Letter

After completing the quest chain, she mails a letter to players:

Thank you!

<Name>,

Thank you for the time that we spent together during Children's Week. Did you know that Farseer Nobundo has asked the orphan matron to allow me to study with him at the Exodar?

Thank you for taking me to all of those neat places, and to visit my brother, Jheel. I miss him almost as much as I miss you. And, the Ring of Observance, the Dark Portal and the Caverns of Time were neato!

I'm sure that you're taking good care of my pet. Tell him that I miss him, too!

Love,

Dornaa
