Clan Toghus is one of the minor Maruuk centaur clans of the Ohn'ahran Plains. It was formerly one of the four major centaur clans, before they were usurped by Clan Nokhud.

Holding major power in the plains,[1] they were an extremely resourceful people, consisting of skilled gatherers, trackers, and animal trainers. The raw materials they gathered were highly desired by crafters from the other clans, and their animals helped them in many endeavors.[2] They were also known for their food.[3] They were based out of Toghusuq Village.

One generation before the awakening of the Dragon Isles, Jhakan Khan of Clan Nokhud raised a mighty army and defeated the Toghus, taking over their territory and their position as one of the four strongest Maruuk clans.[4][5] The Toghus were not fighters, and their last khan, Faraqseng, incorrectly assumed that their prestige would be enough to protect them from Jhakan's ambitions. He hoped that the remaining Toghus would settle into new lives.[2]

Some of the Toghus survived and went on to form the village of Daruukhan, a village of craftsmen; though this village too was destroyed when the Nokhud allied with the Primalists. The surviving members of the clan were aided by an adventurer and the kind bakar Taivan; retreating back to Maruukai.

Notes

  • Like the other Maruuk clans, Clan Toghus is considered a separate reputation faction by the game, but this is only for display purposes to indicate which NPCs are members of the clan. In the Toghus' case, Faraqseng Khan and the townsfolk of Daruukhan are the only members.
