Jhakan Khan was the previous khan of the Nokhud centaur and the father of Balakar Khan. One generation before the awakening of the Dragon Isles, he raised a mighty army and defeated Clan Toghus, allowing the Nokhud to take over the Toghus' territory and position as one of the four strongest Maruuk clans. Jhakan was well-respected by the other clans for his honor, patience, and wisdom.[2][3]

Jhakan wore a unique medallion, which he believed was a keepsake of honor forged by the great ancestors. He planned to gift it to his son Balakar on the latter's coming of age day and took him on a ritual hunt the night before.[4] However, during the hunt, Balakar killed Jhakan in order to take control of Clan Nokhud.[3] When he returned to his people, Balakar lied that his father had tried to kill him out of fear of being succeeded.[4] As the new Nokhud khan, Balakar continued carrying his father's medallion. Jhakan's widow, Elder Nazuun, asks adventurers to kill her son and retrieve the medallion so she can honor the memory of her beloved Jhakan.[1]

Jhakan's spirit is found standing next to Elder Nazuun's tent in northern Teerakai. He is normally invisible and can only be seen while the player character is under the effect of [Essence of Awakening]. Gifting him a  [Fire-Blessed Greatsword] is required for  [Honor Our Ancestors].

Quotes

Initial gossip
My warriors did not need the power of the Primalists.
Bring me a Fire-Blessed Greatsword. Show me what draw it holds.
Gossip <Give Fire-Blessed Greatsword.>
After gift
Nazuun and I had no daughters, but we raised Balakar as best we could. He was never one to listen long enough to understand.
I mistook his undermining nature for ambition to lead. I thought that by keeping him close, I could teach him to lead with respect and dignity. Instead, it led to my downfall, as well as that of my clan.
