Bizmo and Boss Bazzelflange, leaders of the Brawler's Guilds

“'The first rule of brawls is you don't talk about the brawls. The second rule...[1]

The Brawler's Guild puts on (mostly) single-player fights against a wide variety of enemies in Bizmo's Brawlpub under the Stormwind City end of Deeprun Tram, or at Brawl'gar Arena in Orgrimmar. Win fights to gain status within the guild to earn rewards, including mounts, pets, an heirloom fist weapon, housing decor, and shirts. So many shirts. Players can watch the fights at ringside, as they're not instanced, but will not be able to assist whoever's in the arena.

New seasons take place with most expansions, starting in Mists of Pandaria and most recently in The War Within.

New in The War Within

The fifth season of the Brawler's Guild, launched the week of 9 December 2025 during patch 11.2.7, adds four fights, three pieces of housing decor, two mounts, and a series of achievements:

Invitations

In patch 5.1, the Brawler's Guild went live, and Blizzard posted how the  [Blood-Soaked Invitation] initially worked:[2]

Brawler's Guild Invitation Update |  Blizzard Entertainment Nethaera

Entry into the brawler's guild is by invitation only. Invitations can be found on the Black Market Auction House, by invitation from somebody within the guild, and occasionally as drops from certain Horde and Alliance NPCs.

View original post

During Mists of Pandaria, invitations dropped from Landfall rare enemies in Krasarang Wilds. In Legion, it dropped after completing dungeons or opening Emissary chests, or from Helarjar elites in Stormheim.[3] During Battle for Azeroth, the invitation was sold by A. Shady at the Brawler's Guilds for 100g or was a drop from enemies of the opposite faction in Kul Tiras and Zandalar.

In The War Within, all players received a breadcrumb from Dornogal in the form of the quest B [80] By Invitation Only?. Players who have not earned an invite since Legion will be offered N [80] Questionable Qualifications to purchase one for 50g. After getting an invite, pick up B [80] The Gloves Are Off from Pick Butterworth in the Deeprun Tram or Alton Philips outside Brawl'gar Arena and head in to the arena to get to fighting!

Players only need to get invited once over the lifetime of their account after Legion. Invites are Warband-wide and are permanent across expansions.

Matches

Some of the gladiators added in patch 5.3

To join the queue, speak with any bouncer at Bizmo's Brawlpub in the Deeprun Tram for the Alliance, or Brawl'gar Arena for the Horde:

You here to fight?

Gossip Yes, sign me up for a fight!

The player's position in queue will be displayed at the top of the screen. Then, wait until the queue pops - a boss emote will display warning that the next turn is the adventurer's: You are next in line!

There is no warning before getting teleported to the arena floor. The fight lasts two minutes before the arena itself will kill adventurers who take too long.

The queue system operates on a first-come, first-served basis, with one exception: the first-daily queue entry for each character will be placed at the front of the line. This rule is applied to all eligible characters individually, not to the account.

After the match, winners will receive a  [Brawler's Purse] and 250 reputation with the Brawler's Guild. Losers will have to resurrect. In The War Within, the graveyard inside the arena is always active, so there's no longer any need to purchase the  [Blood-Soaked Angel Figurine] or run back from Orgrimmar or Stormwind.

Challenge gambits

In the The War Within season, players can speak with special NPCs to add a challenge gambit (affix) to the fight. There are no additional rewards beyond achievements:

Complete all eight to earn  [Brawl Star], awarding the <Brawl Star> title.

Speak with Alliance Challenge Broker Senna at Bizmo's Brawlpub or Horde Challenge Broker Guo at Brawl'gar Arena to begin:

Interested in adding a little extra challenge to your next brawl, <class>?

I may not have an extra reward if you prevail but your peers will surely be impressed and I'm certain the crowd will love it!

  • Gossip Arm the audience with foul fruit!
  • Gossip Please freeze the arena!
  • Gossip Make me a giant!
  • Gossip Literally set me on fire!
  • Gossip I can win without a scratch!
  • Gossip Fill the arena with sticky molten tar!
  • Gossip Make me as light as a feather!
  • Gossip I can win with just my bare hands!

Gladiators

Gladiators (and their order) change from season to season, and challengers will face off against their opponents in order. Challenge Cards give challengers the opportunity to relive earlier fights. In The War Within, all cards require reaching Rank 8 with the guild to purchase.

Trivia

  • During the fourth season, the guild quartermasters, Alliance Quackenbush and Horde Paul North, were killed and replaced by Alliance Dershway the Triggered or Horde "Bad Luck" Symmes. Quackenbush and Paul were reinstated for the fifth season.
  • The concept of the Brawler's Guild appears to be loosely inspired by the film Fight Club. In particular, the introduction lines "The first rule of brawls is you don’t talk about brawls." and "If this is your first night at Brawler's Guild, you have to fight." are taken almost verbatim from the film. The developers have stated that the "Fight Club vibe" was an intended design aspect.[4]
  • Invitation to the Brawler's Guild was initially extremely limited, with invites only available as rare drops or from the Black Market Auction House. Part of the reason for this design was to reduce the rate at which players were able to access the Guild, due to concerns about server stability and the quality of the play experience with very large numbers of players involved. Knowing that the feature was eagerly anticipated, the developers designed the invitation system to allow players to "trickle into" the new content, "a little bit more slowly, a little bit more elegantly".[4] Tom Chilton described the Brawler's Guild design as "a pretty heavy-handed method" of achieving this, although its secondary effect of initially making entry to the guild feel more selective and restricted was considered to be helpful in establishing the Guild's "Fight Club vibe".[4]
  • According to Ion Hazzikostas' speech at the BlizzCon 2016 What's Next Panel, the Brawler's Guild is "100% non-canon".
  • As of patch 5.1, the Deeprun Tram is also the home to the Brawler's Guild for the Alliance, which is located on the Stormwind side of the tram.
