An'daroth is a ley-line nexus located in the northwestern Ghostlands, found east of Goldenmist Village and west of Elrendar Crossing. It was once used by the high elves of Quel'Thalas prior to the Scourge invasion. By the time the blood elves joined the Horde, a night elven camp of Sentinel spies and their leader made this area their base of operations.
History
Third War
By the time of the Third War in 20 ADP, An'daroth, along with An'telas and An'owyn, was a heavily-guarded, hidden location in Quel'Thalas which held a piece of mooncrystal for the Key of the Three Moons. When combined, it produced a powerful key to bring down the second moongate protecting Silvermoon City. During his mission to claim the Sunwell and resurrect Kel'Thuzad, Arthas Menethil received information about the key from the traitorous Dar'Khan Drathir, and eventually claimed the mooncrystal in An'daroth.[1] When the Farstriders arrived from An'owyn, they were attacked by reanimated elves, and Lor'themar Theron lost his left eye in battle. Only the timely arrival of Halduron Brightwing and his group saved the future Regent Lord from the undead.[2]
The Burning Crusade
Prior to the invasion of Outland in 26 ADP, the Sentinel spies arrived by ship and took over Shalandis Isle, from where they set up bases in An'telas, An'owyn, and An'daroth.[3] Each outpost possessed a moon crystal orb at their center, controlled by a Crystal Controlling Orb, which they used as scrying devices to spy on the Quel'Thalas.[4] When open hostilities began, the rogue Keltus Darkleaf went spying on the night elves in An'daroth, but his companion Whisper was shot down.[5] While looking for the enemy plans, Dame Auriferous of Tranquillien eventually tasked Horde adventurers to kill as many kaldorei they could at An'daroth.[3]
Legion
After the Argus Campaign in 32 ADP, Alleria Windrunner came to the Ghostlands in search of Magister Umbric, she and the Alliance champion teleported into the camp.[6]
Midnight
The area has been completely overtaken by Lightbloom Ath'Ran with no sign of the night elves' former camp.
