The Thalassian Base Camp was located in northern Azshara, south of the Legash Encampment and east of Ursolan. It was a hill containing numerous small camps under control of blood elves. The leader of the Thalassian Base Camp, Magus Rimtori, recently made and reneged on a deal with the Horde to offer a share of the findings in exchange for funding and protection of the expedition.[1] Because of this betrayal, Horde players were being recruited to exact vengeance upon Magus Rimtori and her followers, during the quests [53] Betrayed and [56] Betrayed. While Rimtori was off exploring Azshara under the protection of her bodyguards, Magister Hawkhelm watched over the camp. The Kaldorei Tome of Summoning lay on one of the ridges of the base camp and could be used to summon in demons. This was indicative of the expedition's true intentions.
They had developed a special method for pulverizing the magical items they acquired, producing [Glittering Dust] which differed from the components normally acquired by a [Disenchant] spell. Archmage Xylem was interested into that dust.[2]
