Talrendis Point is a large night elven outpost located in southwestern Azshara. It has two guard towers (the northern one occupying the area of the former Shadowsong Shrine), a moonwell[10, 74] in the southern part, and a building in the western area.
Though friendly to Alliance players, the town offers no services to friendly visitors.
History
World of Warcraft
The Point was originally a small night elven encampment on the border with Ashenvale.
Due to its proximity to the bridge between Azshara and Ashenvale, it was also a good starting place for those who needed to quickly reach the latter, though the addition of a flight master in Forest Song in patch 2.1 made this unnecessary.
Cataclysm
Following the Cataclysm, the small camp was heavily fortified and expanded in order to confront the goblins' continued desecration of nature in the region. As part of the continued tit-for-tat warfare between guerilla forces sent from the Point, the camp was assaulted from Valormok, as the last (and only) defense of the Alliance at Ashenvale's doorstep. Horde adventurers killed several guards, attacked the leadership, and attempted to detonate explosives in the two guard towers and command center.
Chawg, one of the goblins' orcish liaisons in the area, reported that after the Horde offensive on the Point, pockets of resistance around Valormok remained, but that this rearguard action appeared to be masking a full-fledged retreat to Ashenvale.[1] By the time of Vol'jin's death some years later, however, the Alliance appeared to have reoccupied the area.
Legion Invasion
During the Legion Invasions shortly before the Alliance and Horde united to push against the Burning Legion on the Broken Shore, Talrendis Point became the staging ground for Alliance adventurers in Azshara and came under fierce attack by demonic troops. Its glaive throwers were utilized by adventurers to great effect against the intruding demons.
Exploring Azeroth
After the Fourth War, Zekhan reported that night elf defenders from Talrendis Point continue to challenge the Horde for control of Valormok.[2]
