The Mucksnout are a group of kobolds found in Mucksnout Den in Highmountain.
History
Mucksnout Den was once inhabited by drogbar,[1] the kobolds presumably moved in once the drogbar abandoned the place.
During the third invasion of the Burning Legion, Soulkeeper Uriah and Apprentice Rosalyn were transporting demon prisoners to Allari the Souleater in Azsuna when their caravan was attacked by the Mucksnouts. The kobolds made off with the soul chambers that housed the demonic captives, which, if damaged in any way, would cause the demons trapped within to escape.[2] Soulkeeper Uriah was injured by the kobolds but insisted on venturing further into the cave to recover the stolen soul shards. He told Rosalyn to wait with their remaining supplies until he returned.[3]
Rosalyn beseeched passing adventurers to help her collect the soul chambers from the kobolds and find Uriah. However, while they managed to collect most of the soul chambers, a few demons had managed to break free,[2] and while they found Uriah, he succumbed to his wounds immediately after.[3] Adventurers then helped Rosalyn find the escapees and trap them back into the soul chambers while fighting the Mucksnouts.[4]
Furthermore, their taskmaster, Dhink, had conducted several burglaries from the Highmountain tauren with several other kobolds. Rather than going underground, Dhink stashed the goods on top of the cave entrance to Mucksnout Den. While going to get his candle, his companions got wound up in web wrappings.[5]
