The Gammoth herd is a group that consists of a pride of magnataur led by Gammothra the Tormentor and their snobold servants found in and around Gammoth in the Borean Tundra.
History
During the war against the Lich King, Garrosh Hellscream assigned Bloodmage Laurith and Primal Mighthorn at the Bloodspore Plains the task of exterminating the magnataur on the southern front of Warsong Hold. An entire platoon of seasoned Horde soldiers had accompanied them, but their initial foray into the nearby dens ended in failure when lair defenders wiped out the entire squad, leaving only Laurith and Mighthorn alive.[1] When adventurers encountered Laurith, she was studying the local bloodspore plants in the plains. She had adventurers assist her in this study, first collecting Bloodspore Carpels, which were being guarded by snobolds[2] then collecting 
[Bloodspore Moth Pollen] from the local moths[3] and then testing the effects of a 
[Pollinated Bloodspore Flower] on themselves.[4]
After observing the effects of the flower, Laurith sent adventurers to Mighthorn, who acknowledged that the bloodspore the adventurers had gathered previously might finally provide the edge needed to overcome the magnataur of Gammoth.[1]
Mighthorn explained to the adventurers that magnataur live in prides, much like lions, with one or two dominant males and several females along with their offspring, and that Gammothra the Tormentor was the dominant leader of the Gammoth den. To prevent a magnataur uprising, Mighthorn asserted that Gammothra had to be eliminated. He provided the adventurers with a 
[Pouch of Crushed Bloodspore], noting that the snobolds of the area guarded the substance closely because it could weaken even the strongest magnataur. The adventurers traveled to the den, used the powder to drain Gammothra's strength, and slew him. Upon their return with the Head of Gammothra, Mighthorn praised their job well done and requested that they honor him by presenting the trophy to Hellscream.[5]
