Lash of Pain is an ability of the Sayaad, a warlock minion. It is an instant-cast attack that deals Shadow damage
Notes
Lash of Pain can crit (and seems to do so more often when the Sayaad attacks from 
[Lesser Invisibility]) and can be resisted.
This ability is usually best set to auto-cast; the AI will just use it on the Sayaad's targeted enemy as often as possible.
Casting 
[Curse of the Elements] on the target will increase damage done. The amount of damage done by the spell is proportional to the +spell damage gear of the warlock and will benefit from the school of magic with the highest +damage.
Patch changes
Patch 8.0.1 (2018-07-17): Range is now melee (was 20 yd). 
Patch 4.1.0 (2011-04-26): Damage now scales with level, reducing the damage done at lower levels such that it will deal 50% damage at level 20, and 100% damage at level 80 and above. 
Patch 1.1.0 (2004-11-07): No longer requires the succubus to be behind the target. 
Patch 0.7 (2004-06-15): Mana cost and damage reduced. - Patch 0.6 (2004-04-13): Now instant and no longer adds weapon damage.
