Pool of Tears
Sunset near the Sunken Temple

The Pool of Tears is a large body of water on the eastern side of the Swamp of Sorrows. Though originally a lake surrounded by marshland, during the Shattering a waterway to the Forbidding Sea was opened, so that the Pool is now a bay.

After the construction of the Temple of Atal'Hakkar, Ysera sunk the temple under the Pool's waters, where it still sits. Until recently members of the green dragonflight covered the area nearby, watching over the corrupted temple.

Since the Shattering and the Pool's transformation into a bay, Alliance forces have built Marshtide Watch along its shore.

Blood-thirsty frenzies inhabit the water. Remains of Atal'ai ruins are scattered at the shore and underwater, where Atal'ai Artifacts can be found.
