Ymirheim is an Ymirjar village in the center of the rift valley in Icecrown. The village sits high above most of the buildings of Icecrown, a ramshackle wooden vrykul village that wraps around a high mountain valley.[1] At its center are the saronite mines mines of Icecrown; the village was likely put there to protect them. It is the most important place for the vrykul.[2] The vrykul of Ymirheim are no ordinary tall and unpleasant people; they are the Ymirjar, the elite warrior caste created by King Ymiron in service of the Lich King, who won their battles in Valhalas.[3]
During the war against the Lich King, both the Horde and the Alliance were trying to assault this town by dropping infiltrators via air, and assaulting the gate via ground.
Following the war against the Jailer, the brothers Bronzebeard reported that the village is still active with the Ymirjar still present inside.[1]

Ymirheim Digsite
Ymirheim is a vrykul archaeology dig site.
According to Brann Bronzebeard, it is a place to find fascinating vrykul artifacts, only if you have the nerve for it, as it is home to an entirely different caste of the vrykul.[1]
