Outerworlds of Warcraft
Vast territory of broken realms that were once their own realities adjacent to Azeroth. They were created by the Arcanimax explosion and collided by the power of the Ark-Key located at the heart of the Outlands within the Temporal Spire. From the view of the inhabitants of these lands the worlds always existed seperately, and only in the last hundred years these worlds collided and created the Outlands, beginning their hundred year war between every world.
The Worlds are also able to produce the same individuals across different worlds, for example there is a Jaina Proudmoore from the Frozenworld known as the Ice Witch of the Scourge while there is also a Jaina from the Lightworld; there is a Thrall from the Ironworld that once served the Iron Horde before deserting it while there is also a Thrall from the Flameworld known as the Hellhammer and who rules the Fel Horde; an Uther serves the Naaru in Lightworld as the Scarlet Highlord while another version serves the Lich King in the Frozenworld as the Deathbringer.

Within the colossal walls is the Lightworld, a three tiered realm of people that are Light zealouts, raised from birth to place the Light and Naaru above anything and all else. Once the Lightworld was just a place of shared faith but political differences, with many petty kingdoms fighting among one another, until the Outworlds were created and the Naaru arrived, instructing the Draenei of Sha'naresh to conquer the rest of the Lightworld and bring it to order. Now faith in the Light is mandatory, colossal cathedrals and monastery tower over poor villages and the villagers of the lowest regions are expected to give their life to protect the higher tiers. The people of Lightworld consist mostly of humans and draenei, the most fanatical; blood elves who fled here from the Frozenworld after the Scourge conquered their home; and a scattering of dwarven and tauren communities.
Split into three tiers, the lowest tier and a realm always at battle is the largest, consisting of open verdant plains, thick forests, small mountains and breezy hills, all rich with life and resources. Many villages, small cities and towns dot the landscape and it is here the tauren nomads roam, worshiping the Naaru as the embodiment of the Sun. Although it does have a wall it is so large and crumbling that it acts as little deterrence to invaders, with the Scourge and Iron Horde often invading the region, razing farms and towns. A great inland sea, the Blue Bight, is also home to this tier. The second tier is far more secured, the wall large but maintained and manned, and within this tier are city states scattered across rocky plains, forests and mountains, as well as large lakes. The third tier is the smallest, but consists of a colossal city called Sha'naresh, or Shield of Light. The city is draeneic in architecture and is populated by the most fanatical of all worshippers. The Naaru make their home here, with the Light Mother taking up residence in the city's heart.

The vast lands of the Ironworld are the domain of the war machine known as the Iron Horde. From the mighty Hellsreach Citadel the Iron Horde was created to dominate this land and since its creation decades prior the Iron Horde had conquered many neighbouring powers to create the realm known as the Ironworld. The Gorian and Dark Iron Empires had been consumed by the Iron Horde, their powers, magic and machines added to the Iron Horde and provide for the war machine. Currently ruled by Warchief Garrosh Hellscream after he slew his father in single combat the Horde is one of the Outlands' dominate powers and they endlessly war with their neighbours in the Ironworld, always assaulting their walls, and the Flameworld, as the hatred for demons runs thick among the Iron Horde. Although traditionally at war with everyone rumours that the Iron Horde and the Twin Empires are meeting for a potential alliance is reaching other worlds, and the idea of those two factions uniting is a terrifying prospect for any nation left.
The territories within the Ironworld resembles Gorgrond, Nagrand and other regions of what heroes know as Draenor, as well as a blasted region resembling the Burning Steppes and Redridge Mountains. Noted for red mountains, badlands, grassy plains and dry woods, the region of the Ironworld are harsh but beautiful, however now the industry of the Iron Horde threaten this natural beauty as factories rise above the lands. A needed evil, perhaps, as while the Iron Horde is a harsh taskmaster that maintains order through violence they also do protect their lands from incursions by demons, undead and Light fanatics that border their Ironworld, and most within the Iron Horde are patriotic towards their war machine as a means of survival. They mostly consist of orcs, ogres and dwarves, however any race can be recruited into the Iron Horde and some conquered territories consists of other races such as tauren, trolls, goblins and gnomes.
Outside of the dominating Iron Horde also exists the Black Dragonflight who carefully guard their spires from the Iron Horde. A pact between the two sides is what keeps the peace, with the Black Dragonflight taking to the sky to aid the Iron Horde when called upon in return for territory and riches.

The Stormworld was forged out of two smaller realms by the Mogu Emperor, Lei Shen the Thunder King. Once it was two empires, the Mogu and the Zandalari, however Lei Shen was able to unite the two into a solidified empire he called the Twin Empire and from this union forged the Stormworld. With the Zanchuli Council acting as his advisers, Lei Shen led a bloody conquest and took the neigbouring lands belonging to the pandaren and tol'vir forcing them into his empire. Now a powerful empire it is believed that Stormworld is among the most unified of all lands, even the Lightworld suffer from infighting more than Stormworld does. They often fought with Lightworld and Twilightworld which border their lands, however while they have also warred with their neighbour of Ironworld rumour has it that a potential alliance between the two is brewing, dire news for the other worlds as with the backing of the industrious Iron Horde there are few that could stand in Lei Shen's way.
The lands of the Stormworld are not as desolate as the name may imply, as it consists of many beautiful forests, mountainous jungles, golden valleys, deep deserts and swamps. Majestic palace cities rise from these places that house powerful mogu or troll warlords. The capital of Stormworld is more akin to its name, being Thundering Peak a large city constantly assaulted by storms. Their lands are often invaded by from crusades from Lightworld and incursions by the Twilightworld and their dark masters who Lei Shen see as the greatest of their threats. While the bulk of their empire's citizentry consists of mogu and trolls, other races can be elevated from slave status should they prove their worth, most famously was Chen Stormstout, a pandaren wardancer and general for the Twin Empires who has received honours from Lei Shen himself.

The Nightworld is one of an endless night, created by the powerful Queen of the Night Tyrande Whisperwind. Long ago the Children of the Stars united and purged all other races from their land, scorned their previous gods and crafted an artifical world of arcane. They bent nature to their will and turned their home into a deep forest where they built grandiose cities and monuments to their own glory. Having forsworn old oath they formed the Empire of the Night and sought total isolation where they could master their own arts and revel in their own pleasures. However the constant wars raging across the Outerworlds deny this and they seek to do as they did to their own home; wipe out all non-elven races and ensure their kin have absolute peace and security.
The Empire of Night lives in a carefully constructed society, powerful magi rule over the others with Tyrande currently holding the throne. Within the Empire only women may serve as Priestesses or Sentinels, and only men are granted the right to become Druids or Mages, splitting their upper class between gender roles. The grand city of Zin-Tyrand is the heart of this empire, sitting at the edge of the Eternal Well. Also on the banks of the great magical lake is Suramar, the sister city of Zin-Tyrand and ruled by First Arcanist Thalyssra. Roosting atop of great towers within their domain are the Blue Dragonflight, colossal dragons that have sworn themselves to this Empire and provide their services. They allow some elves to ride them and they join the Kaldorei in their wars with the other Worlds in this endless conflict. How Tyrande seemed to have gained the loyalty of an entire Flight is not clear however they are easily the most powerful asset at her command.

The Frozenworld was not always the undead infested land seen now, although it has always been a land closely tied to death. Legends speaks that thousands of years ago a being known as the Lich King ruled over a kingdom of death, however a mighty crusade over threw the Lich King. To maintain the power of the Frozen Throne, as without a master its energies could devastate the nascant nations around the Frozen Throne, a Jailer of the Damned was installed to rule for a hundred years before their soul was consumed and a new Jailer was chosen. However the most recent Jailer, Arthas Menethil, seemed to turn against this purpose once the Helm was placed on his head and he sought to conquer the Frozenworld. Once kingdoms of men, elves and dwarves lived in these cold lands and tundras, while orcs and tauren roamed the more open fields, and a great spider kingdom expanded below. All were consumed by the Lich King and his Scourge.
While the image most have of the Frozenworld is that of ice and snow the lands are comprised of many different terrain, such as fjords, tundras, pine woods, plains and even small cradles of jungles exist scattered throughout. Once these places were filled with different races and cultures, now they've been conquered by the Scourge and those who did not flee were converted into the undead. Now they war with their neighbours after the Outworlds were created, invading the lands of Light, Iron and Twilight to raise even more to their fold. Survivors fled, the remnants of the elven and human kingdoms came to Lightworld and were accepted by the Naaru for they swore loyalty to the Light above all else and now make up some of their greatest Crusaders, most renown was Lord Crusader Uther. The Refuge is also home to many survivors, such as Jaina who was the one to crown Arthas and once served him before he turned on the living.

Twisting misasma of twilight with black citadels towering above ruined cities, the Twilightworld is a domain of Old Gods. Once their world was one not unlike the others, however the Old Gods arrived to the plane and consumed all in their wake converting it into an empire of decadence and twisted desire. Now prophet kings rule over enslaved masses who toil to the whims of the Old Gods, building their citadels into ever twisting mazes and bastions of evil. When the worlds collided the armies of Twilight swiftly begun seeping into the other worlds, converting champions into their own puppets, claiming many such as Cho'gall, Benedictus and Alleria to their cause as their prophets. Four Old Gods rule this place, they once warred with one another for sport, spending countless mortal lives in bloody combat for their own amusement and machinations, before turning their attention to claiming the other worlds for themselves. Any future with them at the head spells utter darkness for the various races of the other worlds, they are an enemy to all.
With a seemingly endless army of aqir, fanatically devoted cultists and their brood of Twilight Dragons the Black Empire seeks to dominate all of the Outerlands and they have the forces to back their claim. The Old Gods are aware of much of how the Outerlands function, unlike most factions, making them focused more on finding the Temporal Spire than slaughtering their enemies. Only a token force are sent to make war on the neighbouring Outerlands which they were growing suspect of. If the location of the Temporal Spire is even unveiled to the Black Empire the devastation it could have on reality is unspeakable.

The broken, blasted lands of Flameworld were once as full of life, civilisations and cultures as the other worlds before the Legion conquered all. Consuming every life and every soul the Burning Legion sprawled out from Antorus, which seemingly appeared one day, and conquered the nations of man, elf, dwarf, orc, tauren and all other races that dared raise a weapon against them or did not submit in their entirity. Now demons roam these wastes searching for what few victims are left in small survivor communities. Any nation left is one that joined the Legion, maintaining a loose semblance of culture, such as the Fel Horde ruled by the Warchief renown as Thrall Hellhammer, or the twisted elven nation ruled by Kael'thas Sunstrider. While these nations obey their demon masters they spend much of their time fighting one another for scraps of land and resources not destroyed by the Legion's scars.
Unlike the other worlds the Flameworld is not actually connected to the others and thus has no land borders for them to invade through. Instead they invade from the skies, raining down chaos upon unsuspecting civilisations, or otherwise need to be summoned forth through portals. The exact location of Flameworld is not clear but the aerial bombardments lead some to believe they are in fact above the rest of the Outerworlds, so high above that they cannot be seen from the ground. Regardless they are a constant threat to all worlds as they can appear without warning, leave a path of devastation and leave without a path to follow them back to their own world. They seek a great source of power they can sense exists but know not where it is located, this source being the Temporal Spire.

Minor Lands
Not all of the Outerladns are vast, world spanning landmasses some are far smaller. Most of these were quickly conquered by the larger powers when the Endless War begun, their territories plundered or incorporated into the larger Outerlands. Some have managed to maintain independence, either through being too difficult to properly invade or by remaining hidden.
