Background

Zom-Nurgal, the Dread Unspoken, herald of the Void Lords, has defiled the World's Heart, spreading the spooling corruption of the Void throughout Azeroth's very core. The shining purity of the worldsoul still endures, but Azeroth is more vulnerable than ever, and the writhing essence of the Void is attempting to infusing itself into the worldsoul. At this critical moment, Yogg-Saron, the reincarnated Old God, launches his own assault upon the World's Heart, intending to usurp Zom-Nurgal's place as the corrupter of Azeroth and become the Dark Titan that will end the age of sanity in the universe. The defenders of Azeroth must battle the hordes of the aqir, the iron abominations of Yogg-Saron, and the corrupted memories of Azeroth herself in order to preserve the world from the darkness of the Void.
