Objectives

Bring a Sprig of Dreamleaf to Yan in New Cifera.

Description

Ashyo must have experienced what we call the golden dream.

Many of us working here have seen it, too - often after a long day of toiling in the pools. It is said this vision—and the feeling of elation it brings—is a reward to the mind for working the body.

There IS an easier way, though we rarely resort to it anymore: a tea can be brewed using lotus root and dreamleaf, which grows around the shrine on the upper tier.

Bring the dreamleaf to Yan back in town and he can brew the tea for you.

Rewards

You will receive: 10g 20s

Progress

Yes, did you need something?

Completion

Ah... dreamleaf! So you want to see the Golden Dream, do you?

Come to think of it, I haven't seen the Dream in years - not since I was a cub spending long hours in the pools. Long before I took up the culinary arts.

Looks like you brought enough dreamleaf for two cups of tea... so why not?

Here's to better days!

Gains

  • 129000 XP

Notes

On accept:

Li Li says: Wait a minute, now we need to go pick a flower for these guys?
Li Li says: Seems kind of girly to me.
Li Li says: Besides... isn't it THEIR job to pick the flowers?

Head up the hill to the top level of the Pools of Purity and pick up the sprig of dreamleaf behind the statue.

On picking the dreamleaf:

Herbalist
Li Li says: <Name>... you picked that flower like a champion! You're like a... a professional flower-picker! Have you done this before?
Non-herbalist
Li Li says: Yikes, <name>, don't manhandle the thing. Have you never picked an herb before?

Up near the dreamleaf, be on the lookout for Krosh, a dragon turtle with 368,000 health. Kill it to loot  [Krosh's Back] and start N [15-35] Guess Whose Back. The bottletoads/snap judgement quests can be completed up here as well. Turn in Snap Judgment on the way down to the lower level for Watery Woes. Kill the cranes and loot the glimmering flies, which are critters. Then turn in at New Cifera.

While out and about in the Gilded Fan, up in the northwest corner is a named crocolisk, Manglemaw. Kill it to spawn his mother, Manglemaw's Mother. She drops an  [Enormous Crocolisk Tail], which starts N [15-35] A Crocolisk Tale.

On complete, a cutscene begins:

The camera flies downriver in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms to the north toward Whitepetal Lake. It banks right and flies east over the Golden Pagoda between the two giant mogu statues to close in on Mogu'shan Palace.
Yan says: No... That's not right...
Yan says: It should be beautiful. It should be pristine!
Yan says: Perhaps I brewed the tea wrong? Yes, that must be it. I brewed the tea wrong. My apologies.

This completes the Clever Ashyo portion of N [15-35] The Search for the Hidden Master. If players have not completed all of the other portions (ending with B [15-35] Warn Stoneplow, and N [15-35] Training and Discipline), they should do so at their earliest convenience to advance the Stoneplow phase.

Cutscene

Loon Mai says: What the...?
Loon Mai says: What was that noise?
Leven Dawnblade says: It came from the wall, sir.
Loon Mai says: I know where it CAME from, what was it?
From the wall, the hints of a gigantic mantid come into view. Immense appendages arc over the Serpent's Spine and begin to batter against it.
Loon Mai says: No... no...
Loon Mai says: Men! To arms!
The wall is breached! An unimaginably enormous mantid lumbers through the breach, slamming its forward appendages down. Hundreds of flying mantid warriors glide over the Serpent's Spine, swarming into Stoneplow.
Loon Mai says: You three! <Name>! Assist Captain Oakenshield in the front!
Loon Mai says: Greentill! Blacksoil! Cover our left flank! I don't want any surprises!
Loon Mai says: Leven, take the right side! You're on your own!
Loon Mai says: Everyone else! If you can hold a weapon, protect the village! Don't let them past this line! You...
Loon Mai's gaze falls across a pandaren farmer with his wife and small children.
Loon Mai says: ...you're nothing but farmer's children.
Loon Mai says: We don't stand a chance...
Loon Mai says: Everyone, fall back! FALL BA-
Chen Stormstout says: Rrrraaaa!!!
Chen races to the battlefield and leaps into battle, slaying several mantid engaged in combat with Leven.
Xiao says: For Pandaria!
The Hidden Master's pupils-- Xiao, Clever Ashyo, Ken-Ken, Lin Tenderpaw and Kang Bramblestaff charge into battle, fighting as a unit.
Loon Mai says: Who are you?
Chen Stormstout says: Does it matter who we are? We are here to help you.
Chen Stormstout says: You were surrendering? Why? Because these invaders can break down a wall?
Chen Stormstout says: You have got another wall... and it's made up of the people who call this place HOME.
From the main road, the cavalry comes charging in; every group that the adventurer aided through the Valley of the Four Winds and the Krasarang Wilds: Yi-Mo Longbrow and Mei Barrelbottom with the Zhu's Watch Wardens, Lyalia and her night elven Sentinels, Sunwalker Dezco and his tauren Sunwalkers, Mudmug and Li Li, the Thunderfoot family with Miss Fanny, and Koro Mistwalker with a contingent of Crane Wing Priests.
Mudmug says: Hey! Gimme one o' them pitchforks!
Chen Stormstout says: Any one of us would lay down their life to protect this land.
Chen Stormstout says: This land, it belongs to us...
Chen Stormstout says: It belongs to our ancestors...
Chen Stormstout says: It belongs to our children.
Chen Stormstout says: And we are not about to let that change.
The defenders all form up and face down the advancing mantid swarm.

When the cutscene finishes, An Ik'thik Colossus blots out the sky on the other side of the wall in Dread Wastes and all of the major characters in Valley of the Four Winds, including Chen Stormstout, Li Li, Mudmug, Master Bruised Paw, Loon Mai, Miss Fanny, Pang Thunderfoot, and Mei Barrelbottom from Krasarang Wilds are on the path fending off some Ik'thik Infestors.

N [15-35] The Mantidote, N [15-35] The Swarm Begins, B [15-35] It Does You No Good In The Keg are all offered next.
