Lyalia is the daughter of Lorekeeper Vaeldrin and the commander of the Sentinel forces sent to Pandaria because of a vision Tyrande had.
History
Mists of Pandaria
She is initially found in the Incursion of the Krasarang Wilds where she and her team were trapped in a mogu trap but later rescued by an Alliance adventurer.[1] She forbade her father Vaeldril to go to search for the Pools of Youth in the nearby mogu ruins[2] and asked the adventurer to kill the Sunwalker Scout who had passed by the area as to not alert the Horde of their location.[3] While the adventurer was assisting her father with research, she lost five scouts to wandering mogu patrols, so she asked the hero to cull the mogu numbers in the Ruins of Dojan. In the meantime, Kang Bramblestaff told her stories about the mogu.[4]
After her father discovered that the Pools of Youth were not the light Tyrande had seen in the vision nor did they create a new life,[5] she sent her scout to investigate the Crane Temple and commanded her army to press further inland - to the Sentinel Basecamp.[6] While there, her night elves started a battle against the mogu at the Ruins of Korja. Her sisters were captured and required freeing the captives[7] and killing Korjan Reclaimers.[8] Soon, Lyalia was caught by Groundbreaker Brojai who killed her. Her body was brought back to the camp by her father.[9] Vaeldrin used the waters of youth transferring his own life to Lyalia's body. He sacrificed himself so Lyalia could live again.[10] She resolved to finish off the mogu and deal with the next threat - mantid.[11] After this, she brought her Sentinels to Stoneplow in the Valley of the Four Winds and began fighting with the mantid, successfully repelling the attack. During the attack, she was given brew made by Chen Stormstout.[12]
After the Vale of Eternal Blossoms was opened, Lyalia and her Sentinels and Alliance allies moved to the Shrine of Seven Stars. She could be found stationed at the Summer Terrace. Two months later, the Alliance naval army was about to make a landfall in Krasarang, and Lyalia sent adventurers to assist the Alliance.[13] Later she directed the adventurers to speak with Vereesa Windrunner in Townlong Steppes to begin the assault on the Isle of Thunder.[14] She was then seen on Isle of Thunder helping with eliminating the Skumblade saurok presence.[15]
After the defilement of the Vale by Garrosh Hellscream unleashing the Heart of Y'shaarj, Lyalia with some members of her team moved to the front of the Shrine of Seven Stars to help the Golden Lotus defend the Vale. She was later seen alongside Taylor on the Timeless Isle.
The Untamed Valley
Shortly after the Siege of Orgrimmar, Lyalia and her sentintels were trying to capture the party responsible for raids on Horde and Alliance caravans. Lyalia eventually captured Mashok with the aid of Vindicator Maraad. Deciding to not risk an incident in the wake of the ceasefire the two avoided Horde lands and holdings on the off-chance that Horde members would attack not them realizing Mashok was not on their side. However the two encountered a problem in that Mashok refused to give them his name and thus were unsure of what exactly their prisoner could do. While traveling the group was harassed by a group of virmen, though the timely intervention of Haohan Mudclaw and Mung-Mung forced them away.
Haohan's repeated attempts to explain that the virmen would come back in greater members eventually forced them to reside in the Haohan house for the night, with the plan to continue their journey to Lion's Landing in the morning. When Mashok's fellow Dark Shaman attack during the night, Mashok reveals his name and is able to escape his bounds. Lyalia and Maraad are aided against the Dark Shaman by members of the Tillers (Farmer Fung, Old Hillpaw, Gina Mudclaw, Haohan Mudclaw and Mung-Mung) who dinning at the Haohan House. During the battle that followed the Dark Shaman were slain, the defenders survived the night, and Mashok was recaptured, with Lyalia and Maraad directing him to Lion's Landing the next day.[16]
The War Within
Following the destruction of Dalaran, Lyalia accompanied the Alliance fleet when they sailed to the Isle of Dorn to aid in the war against Xal'atath and the nerubians of Azj-Kahet.[17] She could be seen patrolling the ranks of the Alliance forces on the Tranquil Strand.
