Shell Shield is a pet ability available exclusively to the turtle family of hunter pets, reducing pet damage taken by 50%.

Trivia

One of the oldest pet abilities still in the game, turtles who knew Shell Shield were initially highly sought after by hunters for soloing content or attempting to off-tank in dungeons. Prior to the Echoes of Doom patch (3.0.2), the only low-level turtles to know the ability were Kresh in the Wailing Caverns and Ghamoo-Ra in Blackfathom Deeps, making them popular and common pets around Azeroth.

• Patch 9.0.1 (2020-10-13): Now learned at level 14.
